So who exactly is Matt Redman?
For those of you who are unsure as to who he is, he is a Christian singer songwriter. He also leads worship at various different places - Soul Survivor; New Fronteirs, and many collaborations in the States.
He has a heart for worship, and longs to see people be freed in their worship of God. As well as having written many songs of praise and worship, there have also been published some books on the subject of worship - what wprship is; how to worship, and such like.
You say that he leads worship - where?
He started off at Soul Survivor, a youth church based at Watford that came out of the Church of England movement in St Andrews Chorleywood. Soul Survivor also hold an annual youth festival at the Royal Bath and West Showground in Somerset, as well as various other conferences that are both national and international. They see that young people should be able to express themselves however they want, and make space for this to take place.
However he is now one of the worship leaders at the Church of Christ the King in Brighton, who have a similar outlook on life. This is the head church of New Frontiers, an international group of churches.
So what about the CD?
Where was it published?
It was recorded in LA.
Is it in his usual style?
Yes, upbeat music with a full band of drums; guitars, keyboards and the like. It is a Christian CD, but with backing music that will be familiar to many young (and slightly older) people today.
How much does it cost?
I bought it for £14.99.
Where from?
My local Christian bookshop, where you can find it. But also look at survivor.co.uk/ heartofworship.co.uk, and kingsway.co.uk for further details. Many other sites will provide links to this, and so therefore it may be worth your while to check out as many as you can as some sites may have special offers on.
What are the songs that are on this CD?
This is the current order of songs list:
Amazing - a song that just rejoices about how amazing God's love is for His people.
Blessed be Your Name - a song that says that no matter how much crap life will throw at you, God is always there in the midst of it to help and support you.
Befriended - a song to describe that although God is the King of all and ruler above everything, He is still even closer to yout han the closest of all friends/ family members.
When my heart runs dry - when we fall down and our lives don't really resemble the lives that God would have us live, He is still there loving us and wanting us to return to Him once again.
Making melody - giving our hearts and all within us back to God, and that we will sing to Him to thank Him for all that He has done for us.
Call to worship - the name title says it all, and that we are getting ready to come into His prescence to worship Him.
Rejoice with trembling - although God is great and we are nothing in His prescence, we are still able by H is grace to come to Him and worship Him.
The promise of Your cross - that when Jesus died on that cross (and yes I know that it is Easter), everything that we had done wrong was wiped away and we have that hope in Him to live once again.
Wonderful Maker - praising God for all that He has made and done, yet still is close to us.
Lord, let Your glory fall - asking for God to descend upon our lives, and to help us as we fulfill our daily working lives.
Where angels fear to tread - proclaiming that it is only through God that we have been able to live, and that He is the true way and the only way for us to live.
During this CD, Matt has continued on with his usual high quality and standards of perfomance. He has provided us with another means through which to worship God, and to come into a more deeper and meaning relationship with Him yet again.
The inlay design is just plain and simple, with a picture of a desert - presumably to reflect what Jessu went through. All of the lyrics have been included, to enable the listener to follow each of the tracks.
There is also the usual list of artists and musicians, many of whom you will find popping up again on other artists listings - and many of them on their own. Enjoy.
Advantages: Brilliant Worship Music with meaning behind the lyrics. Disadvantages: None
...the tracks:
1 - Blessed Be Your Name - Great track. Won a Dove Award in America for Best Song. 5/5
2 - Holy Moment - A worship track praising God. 3.5/5
3 - Once Again - Beautiful song which really sticks in your mind. Unfortunately, in my opinion, there is better versions of this song on other Matt Redman CD's because it is quite quick on this album. But it is still very decent. 4/5
4 - Heart Of Worship - This is what Matt is all about, he has ... ...to others and he is succeeding. He may not be the best singer or guitarist but he has the heart of worship which many Christian bands/singers miss and that is what makes him so good. Brilliant chords, beautiful lyrics. 5/5
5 - Let My Words Be Few - Not many words in this song as the title suggests but it is a very good and simple song and great for just committing your life to god. 4/5
6 - Lord, Let Your Glory Fall - Another simple song and it ...

Quick review of Blessed Be Your Name - Matt Redman
An album containing what may well go down as a Christian Hymn/Anthem for many years to come: Blessed Be Your Name rightly is the title of the album and is a real call to Christians to abandon themselves to praise in spite of their circumstances.
But it's not just about this one song. There's some classics on it like Once Again - and rounded out by some truly reflective material like Let My Words Be Few. Overall, the album really points the listener/worshipper to a two-way time with God.
Not cheesy (as some worship CDs can be) and not over polished, this album was recorded just right in my opinion. ...
