Blood Mountain - Mastodon

Advantages: Progressive metal at its BEST

This album unlike the previous 2 is alot more guitar orientated with a good selection of face melting lead solos which are awsome but in reality the best thing about mastodon are the riffs. Mastodon are an excellent band, and it really shows on this CD. When I bought it I had no idea who they even were, but somehow I ended up going back to the store to see if they had any other CDs out, which is something I don't often do. From start to finish the songs are consistantly excellent, and they play some of the best guitar I have ever heard from any band on the planet. ...Compared with their other releases, I wouldn't say it was better than the stuff they've done before but it definitely carries on the high standard of Mastodon's music. With some bands the standard drops over time, but Mastodon carry on churning out brilliant lyrics and music. ...I bought this album blood mountain a couple of months ago i put it straight on my itunes and currently it says i have listened to each of those song on this album about 200 times. If thats not proof that you can nt get bored of them then i dont n what is. this album blood mountain is thier newest album and personally it is the best but honestly all of thier albums are very good i recomend them all.
