Advantages: Great album, very good keyboards, and very memorable chants. Disadvantages: Not great mastering.
Well, upon reading the other reviews on this album, it seems to be getting a very hard time, which is unjustified in my eyes. Now if people are familiar with Children of Bodom already they'll know that the previous album 'Are You Dead Yet?' was a complete change from their previous albums, the older ones were faster more thrashy and his voice was more kind of 'deathy'. Anyway 'AYDY?' changed things about a bit, and they went for a more straightforward ... ...has a great voice although it's somewhat more understandable than before. 'Blooddrunk' is in the same vein as 'AYDY?', sticking to the new style. Personally I think yeah this album is different to before, and as much as I liked the old style stuff, I really quite like this new style too. And why shouldn't they change? If you are familiar with Dream Theater you'll know that they change the style of what they're doing every album. Let's be honest, ...

Advantages: Fast Melodic Heavy Metal - What More Can One Say? Disadvantages: The Bonus Tracks
Blooddrunk is Children Of Bodoms sixth studio album, and they have done metallers proud once again. I personally thought Are You Dead Yet? (there last studio album) a little disappointing compared to Follow The Reaper and Hatebreeder, but Blooddrunk has shown that they will never stop prevailing, the intensity from there original albums has come scorching back and bolted them onto metals main stream - where they proudly diserve to be! The only slight ... ...original neo-classical sound which was what originally sold them to me, but there back with heavier faster melodic riffs that any guitarist would be inspired by. Children of Bodom have really shown us how musically skilled the five members are! Tracks such as Hellhounds On My Trail and Tie My Rope will just go on as memerable tracks that are vital to any metalhead, there is a very cheesy cover version of Johnny Cash's Ghost(Riders) In The Sky which ...

Album Notes
The sixth studio album from Finnish death metal stalwarts Children Of Bodom, 'Blooddrunk', is a notably more extreme venture than previous records. The songs are inspired by the same dark material as before, but with a more refined attitude to composition and, more importantly, extreme noise. Despite this focus on extremes, there remains a fascination among the band with more progressive musical expressions, the use of more keyboards and so on. Produced in part by Swedish metal legend Peter Tagtgren (the singer and guitarist with Hypocrisy), this release contains the singles 'Tie My Rope' and 'Blooddrunk'.
