About AC / DC,
AC / DC are, for me one of the best bands ever, officially formed in the early 70's and have stood the test of time, they are about to record a new album! It is hard to describe why I like ac / dc so much, but one thing I can say is that ... ...stuff is great, they are such a tight, professional band, yet have such a brilliant raw energy, that simply is a joy to watch and hear, and the music is so clever, yet simple, both in the guitar and lyrics and you can only get a sense of it by hearing it! It is evident in just about all there albums, personally the first ac / dc I heard, was 'The razors edge' and I loved it and compared to the other albums it is quite different, but all the albums ... more

About AC / DC,
AC / DC are, for me one of the best bands ever, officially formed in the early 70's and have stood the test of time, they are about to record a new album! It is hard to describe why I like ac / dc so much, but one thing I can say is that they know how to put on a show! The live stuff is great, they are such a tight, professional band, yet have such a brilliant raw energy, that simply is a joy to watch and hear, and the music is so clever, yet simple, both in the guitar and lyrics and you can only get a sense of it by hearing it! It is evident in just about all there albums, personally the first ac / dc I heard, was 'The razors edge' and I loved it and compared to the other albums it is quite different, but all the albums have the same theme running through them, once you have heard ac / dc you can always identify them, if say you heard them on the radio (unlikely now!) no matter what song (there are probably one or two exceptions that prove the rule!)
They have always played their music their way and not bowed to the various styles and fashions of the decades they have survived through and succeeded.
The Album
Ten tracks with only one or two (maybe three) songs that may be considered weak links, that aside this album contains some very toe tappin numbers, especially 'That's the way I wanna rock and roll' (A personal fav)

Album Notes
This is a Hyper CD, which contains regular audio tracks and also provides a link to the artist's website with the help of a web browser. AC/DC: Brian Johnson (vocals); Angus Young, Malcolm Young (guitar); Cliff Williams (bass); Simon Wright (drums). Recorded at Studio Miraval, Le Val, France. Originally released on Atlantic (81828). Includes liner notes by Alan Di Perna. In the late '80s, with bands like Guns N' Roses finding stardom with stripped-down, loud rock & roll, AC/DC couldn't have picked a better time to release BLOW UP YOUR VIDEO. The album found an extremely receptive U.S. audience, and was the band's first record to reach the top 10 since FOR THOSE ABOUT TO ROCK WE SALUTE YOU. And while it wasn't as consistent as some of the band's classic releases, BLOW UP YOUR VIDEO was easily one of the best hard rock/heavy metal releases of that time. "That's the Way I Wanna Rock N Roll" was an instant AC/DC classic, and the raging "Heatseeker" became an eventual concert staple. Other tracks like "Go Zone," "Kissin' Dynamite," and "Some Sin for Nuthin'" were standouts as well. BLOW UP YOUR VIDEO proved to be drummer Simon Wright's final album with the band (he would leave after the ensuing tour to join Dio). BLOW UP YOUR VIDEO set the stage perfectly for AC/DC's next album, the blockbuster THE RAZOR'S EDGE.

Rolling Stone - 3.5 Stars - Very Good Spin (6/88, p.70) - "...AC/DC can peel the paint off your walls. BLOW UP YOUR VIDEO is so boss--it's like an eleven on the volume knob of bossness..."
