While I was watching a country music channel quite a few years back, I was captivated by Chris Isaak's video for "Somebody's Crying". It wasn't just the video that had me interested, although Issak is always very handsome, and he appeared to be very much so during the footage, but rather the song. I have been a fan of Isaak's ever since his work with David Lynch on the "Wild at Heart" Soundtrack. His "Wicked Game" is a pure and haunting classic. It is clearly washed in the songs of yesterday that inspired Isaak, such performers as Roy Orbison and Elvis.
Loving "Somebody's Crying", I started looking for the album it would appear on. I found out that it was an album entitled "Forever Blue". Along with expecting and awaiting its release date, I found out the story behind many of the songs that would be featured on the album ...

A BIT ABOUT THE BAND
The Beautiful South ? most often described as an alternative rock group ? were formed in the late 1980?s out of the ashes of the Housemartins. Founded by Paul Heaton (singer and main songwriter) and Dave Hemingway (lead vocalist), they were joined by Sean Welch (bass), Dave Stead (drums) and Dave Rotheray (guitar). The band has had various female vocalists throughout their career ? originally Briana Corrigan (1988 to 1994) and then Jacqui Abbot (1994 to 2000), before Alison Wheeler joined the band for its last three years (2003 to 2007). Many of the songs on this album ? ?Blue is the Colour? - are fronted by Abbot, who was arguably the most successful of the three female vocalists. The band produced ten studio albums over their 19 year career, finally breaking up in 2007, citing ?musical similarities?. As ...
Advantages: Good plot twists. Well written. Classic Who-Dunnit. Disadvantages: Slight formulaic feel, too similar to other Christie books in parts.
Agatha Christie, widely accepted as the Queen of Crime, was a prolific writer. This book features Poirot, the dapper little Belgian detective with his superior powers of deduction and moustache-twirling tendencies.
The plot of The Mystery of the Blue Train did feel slightly formulaic to my mind. A rich American beauty is married to an impoverished English cad, a man with expensive taste, trying to sustain his champagne lifestyle on his ?shandy? income, including financing a high-maintenance and demanding mistress.
The American, after persuasion ...
