Blue Streak Soundtrack

Advantages: The better tracks outweigh the average ones
Disadvantages: Not many but some fillers

For what this cd is worth its good value for money, some little gems on this disc. Sometimes you buy soundtracks to find little known tracks that will never be released you can nod along to, Blue Streak has quite a few of these and i was well pleased with this purchase. Only seen the film once but rate the soundtrack higher Girls Best Friend - Jay Z. A simple layed beat by Swizz Beats opens up the album with Jay Z hitting all the right notes, kind of. Single released with video, not his best but not a bad track Criminal Mind - Tyrese & Heavy D. Good track, catchy chorus. A good up tempo follow up to the Jay Z track Damn - So Plush & Ja Rule. Tune. Great track. Production by Darkchild hits the right spots, Ja Rule early raps leads you up the garden path and into a chorus filled with simple lyrics and sweet voices. Theres something ...

The Celtic Collection

Advantages: Beautiful and atmospheric
Disadvantages: Too short and not for everybody

of classical with occasionally a bit of folk and sometimes some (very) soft rock, all depending on the artist(s)/composer(s). This isn't necessarily what it is, but I feel it's a good way to give you an impression of what Celtic music is. This album consists of what is dubbed as "The Celtic Collection". I don't really know any other Celtic music other than what's on this album so this may be some of the best Celtic tracks every composed. It is a compilation of some truly impressive tunes from some great artists. THE TRACKS 1 - James Galway & Phil Coulter - Callin Na Gruaige Baine - The intro to the album is a slow, calm, with quite strings and some calm but good singing. As the title suggests, this isn't in English but that adds to the effect. What you'll find is that some of the better tracks are those that don't have English lyrics ...

R&B Collection 2009 - all the hits!

Advantages: Comprehensive round up of the big tunes of 2008
Disadvantages: No beyonce! shock, and some horrible non-R&B on CD2

As another year draws to a close and the Christmas madness begins as sure as sure can be you know you the music store shelves will be packed full of compilations. Restrospective compilations are still the flavor de jour, and R&B Collection 2009 (As it is oddly entitled) features a round up of all the tracks that did the business in yes, 2008. What we have is a nicely packaged, although the cover is a little bog standard, 2 CD set with a bonus DVD featuring 15 music videos. This will undoubtedly set this one apart from a lot of the field. But more importantly on a compilation such as this one, how does the track listing measure up! I will now take you on a whirl wind tour of the 40 tracks featured on the album commenting on some of the more stand out efforts.
