Blues Legend - Pinetop Perkins

Advantages: You hear some legends of the Blues playing together.

.... Bob Margolin gives a few lines about the song or history of it after every track in the sleeve notes The album is the same as they were live. Bob Margolin came out to his audience in the interval and even signed the cd I bought. We also sat next to the drummer in the pub across the road before the concert. This is an excellent album, buy this if Blues is your thing, some of these musicians have played in Muddy Waters Band. Pinetop Perkins for twelve years. How's that for a recommendation for an album? Advantages: All his best hits on 1 cd
Disadvantages: There are none that i can find

...Johnny Cash who performed with several other artists including, Elvis, Buddy Holly, Car Perkins, Chet Atkins and of course his wife June Carter Cash. This man for me is the King of Country his styles have changed from what ever style or frame of mind he was in at the time, his voice offers both depth and tone to any song even a badly written song perfromed by JC sounds good. He spent time in prison and engaged these visits into his music and portrayed him self to be an honest man by hiding no facts that he had strayed from the right ways of life he also encourage others to do the same, come clean and your fans will understand and love you more for being truthful he told one country star. Advantages: Some interesting guest hybrids
Disadvantages: Santana's own can sometimes get dull

...This latest release from the PRS-toting guitarist and his band is a vibrant mix of their traditional pot pourri and new directions. Latin percussion rock grooves are still the order of the day for Carlos Santana to soar over with pentatonic flurries and notes that sustain for days. Elsewhere, guests include Dave Matthews, Everlast, Eagle Eye Cherry, soul/rap sensation Lauryn Hill and blues legend Eric Clapton. While the mix of Santana with Hill or Eagle Eye Cherry/the Dust Brothers provide interesting jazz/hip hop/blues hybrids, it is the mix of the two legends (Carlos and Eric) that is most unexpected. A sparse hip hop arrangement provides them room to trade licks - you can almost imagine them spurring each other forward when the red light was on.... Read review
