...The Sisters of Mercy are fronted by a very gaunt looking Andrew Eldritch.
We saw then in Las Vegas, House of Blues in 1999.
They were ok but something was missing.
I know what it was, it was the haunting voice of Miss Patricia Morrisson.
They lacked something , even though it brought back memories to my punkie gothic days.
I didn't have the gothic look more of the Billy idol look I always preferred blondes.
I still loved all the music though and all my friend were a mixture of goths and punks.
Because Iam now going on 40 I have totally changed with my appearance but the foot still taps when the Sisters come on.
The album Girls wander by Mistake is an excellent album, it opens up with Alice

Advantages: Not well known but is an important bridge in the historic cycle Disadvantages: Not well known and quite dated
...again the CIAO title word limitation has caught me out. The reference comes from the seminal anti-male couplet sung by Lady Psyche to the chorus of graduates at the beginning of Act II.
“Man is coarse and Man is plain …
Man is more or less insane …
Man’s a ribald … Man’s a rake …
Man is Nature’s sole mistake”
Notable songs:
“If You Give Me Your Attention” - King Gama (the ‘de riguer’ introductory patter song)
“For A Month To Dwell In A Dungeon Cell” - Arac, Guron, Scynthius
STAGE PERFORMANCE
After the initial run, Princess Ida did not reappear on the stage again until 1922. It then lay fallow again until the 1950s.
Prior to researching this review, I knew nothing of Princess Ida apart from the King Gama song mentioned above. I am not aware of any recent professional stage performances.

Advantages: Generally easy to listen to. Highlight got to be 'time ownt let me go' Disadvantages: No real variance but still a good album
.../leaked!
Another notable pick off the album is Split Me Wide Open. Readers may remember the lucous high pitched chorus of An Honest Mistake from their debut album, this is more of the same albeit more rocky and less fancy pants. My bet is that this track would top their current chart record. The last two tracks, Above and Below and The Ocean are much calmer than the rest of the album - a definite hit for when The Bravery tour to UK and play some acoustics at Fopp. If UK is that lucky, that is.
The Sun and The Moon is a great second album, one of which contains more Indie Anthems than their debut and at the same time sounds far more mature....
