Advantages: Bright and colourful; a fun way to learn to count Disadvantages: Poor design; Falls over easily; Pegs fall out
As any parent will know, one of the joys of having young children is to see their little faces light up on Christmas morning when they first set eyes on all those brightly wrapped presents, and then proceed to rip them open in anticipation - only to end up playing with the box by the end of the day.
Amongst the Santa Sack of delights awaiting my son this Christmas Day morning was an Early Learning Centre Counting Peg Board which I had bought him as a little stocking filler. When I first spotted this in my local Early Learning Centre, it appealed to me straight away. The picture on the front of the box showed a sturdy wooden counting toy which looked well designed, was bright and colourful and would stand the test of time. Alas, it was not to be.
The Aim of the Game
The Counting Peg Board is not a game ...
Advantages: Good, cheap food; warm... Disadvantages: Long waiting times; untidy; just not that great...
TheCounting House
The Counting House is part of the Wetherspoon's chain of pubs, which you don't really notice from the outside. It's located in the centre of Glasgow on St. Vincent's Place, which is across from George's Square. Inside, there are high ceilings and it looks really quite beautiful, you do feel like you're in an old-fashioned, stately home. There is a huge bar in the middle of the room, surrounded by bar stools. There are also high tables around the centre of the room. If you go a little further from the bar you will find tables ...
Advantages: Great mixture of songs, very talented band Disadvantages: None for me
Counting Crows are an American band that never really made it big in this country which is a real shame as they are so talented! They were formed back in 1990 and are still together after all these years! They tour the UK every couple of years and although they are my favourite band of all time I have not yet seen them in concert as I am not a fan of crowded places!
The album 'August and Everything After' was released back in 1993 and it was the soundtrack to my youth, blimey that makes me feel old now! I listen to this album on a regular basis even today and never get bored of it as it is still my favourite!
The tracks are as follows:
1. Round Here
A brilliant guitar riff opens this track which is repetitive throughout but not annoying. The song is very simple yet effective. Some great lyrics such as "we talk just ...
