He may be dead, but his songs live on. He was the Reggae voice of Jamaica. His songs are full of hope and freedom. He is a symbol of unity, of what can be achieved. He gives hope to people who need it, courage and optimism. His songs brace all cultures, hit every heart of every person. He’s the inspiration behind black music. He put Jamaica on the map.
But, all his talents and all the fame in the world could not save him from death. By the age of 36, his life was ended. Yet, his songs are just as good as before, his message just as strong.
The album ‘Legend’ the Best of Bob Marley and the Wailers, is by far my precious CD, even though I have hundreds, I regard this as one of my best. It has something about it, which makes me put it on top of my CD rack. Yet, I can’t put my finger on it.
The songs are equally as excellent as one another. It features: 1. Is this Love 2. No woman no cry 3. Could you be loved 4. Three little birds 5. Buffalo Soldier 6. Get up stand up 7. Stir it up 8. One Love 9. I shot the sheriff 10. Waiting in Vain 11. Redemption Song 12. Satisfy my soul 13. Exodus 14. Jamming
My favourite song has to be ‘Redemption Song’, it’s truly a marvellous piece of music. The lyrics are excellent, and you can never get tired of listening to the tracks. An excellent artist one which will be remembered for years to come, no doubt in that at all.
