investigating, mark-making (the first stage of writing) and so much more. It's full of fun and imaginative ways for grown-ups and children to learn together. Furthermore, the sticker album comes with an alphabet poster and a stick-and-lift reward chart, to help parents praise and encourage their children. Contains a 48 page album + pull-out poster
waiting for. As with most children's television musical tie-ins,Bob the Builder--The Albumcombines quirky, humorous lyrics that reference the narrative and the characters of the show, with contemporary musical sounds. Copying the successful formula of the UK No. 1 singles, "Can We Fix It?" and "Mambo No. 5" the album is packed with plenty of building trade lyrical allusions ("...mix it up","...don't mess with my JCB"). "Let's Get Busy" has a garage-style beat that cheekily incorporates bird "cheeping" samples, while "No One Can Dig It" is a down-tempo Latino-type track which quotes some of the lines from "Can We Fix It". Line-dancing though gets the most acknowledgement, with "Bob's Line Dance" and the duet with Wendy "Blonde Haired Gal" paying homage to Texas's greatest musical export. Overall a fun album that is only slightly soured by Spud the Scarecrow's plucky ballad "What Can I Be" which strangely resembles Keith Harris's and Orville's winsome 1983 hit "I Wish I Could Fly". Top pop for tots, builders and adults too. --John Galilee

I don't like to give bad reviews because I like to see the best in everything, but I honestly can not do that with this CD.
Fair enough, it has twelve different songs in various styles of music - some dance, pop, a rather slow song and even a line dance! About four of the songs are rather well known (indicated with *)
The tracks are as follows;
Can we fix it? * Mambo No. 5 * Bob's Line Dance Right tool for the Job Let's get busy What can I do? (Spud's song) Blonde haired Gal In a hard hat (Wendy's song) Dizzy! * Super Spud (Spud's dub) No one can dig it like we do No prob Bob! Crocodile Rock (with Elton John) *
The cover is bright and cheerful, with a picture of Bob in his usual attire, with a brown coat on and a microphone in his hand. On the back is a list of tracks and a small picture of the "crew".
I would say that this CD would have a rather short shelf life, I mean, there's only so many times you can listen to Can we fix it?
I can't compare this against a similar product as it's the first time I've bought this type of CD, the reaon I bought it was because I have been impressed with the standard of the Bob the Builder DVD's,and thought that this product would be of a similar standard. Sadly not.
I have no idea of the retail cost as I picked mine up at a boot sale, I think i'd be kicking myself if I'd bought it at it's full price!
I don't think even the would-be Bob's and Wendy's will like this CD for too long, though I can't speak from experience because my son's a little on the young side to be totally mad about a tv show yet.....I don't think I could bear the thought of him wanting to play this CD over and over again!
Advantages: Lots of fun songs to sing along to Disadvantages: none to mind
