Advantages: Nice hypnotic grooves and soloing. Disadvantages: Overlong, can be boring in parts.
...KlausSchulze has released so much old material in boxed sets or re-issues in the past 10 years that it almost passed my notice that he hasn't released a straight forward new studio album for ages. And here it is, supposedly a "fan pleasing" album featuring a mix of his famed 70s sequencer style with his more rhythmic contemporary sound. The end result is rather a joyful upbeat album for Schulze. The standard overlong tracks are still there, but if you adjust your listening head to just float along, they pass by remarkably quickly.
The 30 minute "Playmate In Paradise" is really a track in two halves. The first is his standard contemporary style of rhythmic backbeats with only very sparse soloing. The track is built up very slowly (as is Schulze's style, why rush?) Just as you think it is going on for far to long, it is enhanced...

Advantages: Eno's first musical high Disadvantages: One bad track
...and listening and smirking like a moron. Just great, almost clean, fun.
Some Of Them Are Old is possibly as close to mediocrity as the album ever gets. It’s not a bad song, only it doesn’t quite have the immediacy of Baby’s on Fire, the thrill of Needles in the Camel’s Eye or the subtlety of On Some Faraway Beach. It has its own sound but in many ways I can’t really put words down as to how I feel about this song because I seem to listen to it without quite listening to it. Why is this? Because I am waiting for:
Here Come the Warm Jets. The final track, like On Some Faraway Beach it is almost an pure instrumental, only towards the end there is a few vocals there to complement the music. It reminds me in some way, the music, of sequenced electronica ala KlausSchulze. Yet it’s entirely its own thing, and the sequenced, treated guitar...

Advantages: totally different from fever. Disadvantages: I loved fever!
...I love Kylie. I have done since she left neighbours and started her music career. I dont remember her in Neightbours as thats before my time.
I dont know what it is about her that I like, her music is great but not the best I have ever heard, Its not her looks. I guess shes just a nice down to earth celebrity, no falseness, no false lips or face and no itentional scandals to raise her public profile. And lets face it, these type of celebrities are hard to come across these days.
I have most, if not all of her albums so when I heard body language was being released a few months early because Robbie Williams said he didnt want to be seen as 'trying to get the Christmas number 1', I was made up of course.
~The cover~
The cover features, of course, Kylie with her completely new look, which makes a change from the white sheet...
