Having only heard a few tracks of Bon Iver before this album, I couldn't stop listening to this album when I first got it.

--What you get--
A 10 track album of brilliant Bon Iver music with lyrics in the album sleeve if you buy the hard copy.

--Value for money--
Absolutely, if you are into soft acoustic-y music and interesting vocals. You can get downloads cheaper off iTunes, especially if you only want a few tracks but you can also buy it from Amazon, Play.com, HMV or any online music store.

--Personal opinion--
This album is a brilliant album for relaxing or thinking and takes you on a journey through your musical sense somehow! Each song name is a different city, making me think they are playing the songs of a road trip.

1. Perth
This song starts with gentle notes then builds up with echoes. A great faraway feeling opening track.

2. Minnesota WI
A chilled out track.

3. Holocene
A melancholy track, seeming to echo with regret and addressing a close friend in parts.

4. Towers
A more uplifting track to follow the sad notes of "Holocene". Sounds like waking up in the morning, a car journey or the fresh feeling after a shower of rain.

5. Michicant
Use of the Bon Iver frontman's unique voice for effects. Quite like this one and it's lyrics are quite clever.

6. Hinnom, TX
I love the echo effect in this track! Sounds like travelling or discovering new previously unthought of ideas, and it is also an uplifting track with an optimistic sound.

7. Wash
A soft track following from "Hinnom, TX" and using a very pleasant piano technique to back the vocals.

8. Calgary
A slow, sad track with an aura of inevitability. Picks up speed toward the latter end of the track, I think this build up is very effective. Love this track.

9. Lisbon, OH
Takes a while to get going, short track between Calgary & Beth, using a variety of echoey techniques.

10. Beth/Rest
This is one of my favourite tracks on the album and sticks in my head for a while afterwards. Very uplifting and romantic.

Get this album - it's beautiful. Other music I have by Bon Iver is "For Emma, Forever Ago" & Bracket WI off Dark Was The Night compilation album.

This should be cheaper than its original price now as it has been out a year or so!

Summary: Buy it!
