Advantages: amazing interpretation of a classical piece Disadvantages: Let me think about that.....hmmmmmm...........aaaaaaaaa...no
...What in the world is wrong with me anyway? I keep promising to myself that I will stop giving conventional characterizations of jazz greats, but I can't help it, something is pushing me. So what I decided to do? A Miles review(Let's give a warm applause to the idiot). Thank you guys I appreciate it. All right, first of all who this Miles something guy is supposed to be.
Well Miles Davis, and here is where I start the conventional staff, is probably the jazz guy that actually invented the most styles in jazz than any other guy. All right Charlie Parker and Gizzy Gillespie invented be-bop, John Coltrane modal jazz but do you want hear what Miles invented? Cool jazz, jazz-rock, fusion, commercial jazz. Not bad for a trumpet player(sorry trumpeteers). Not to mention the people that he has shared stage with: Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie...

Advantages: Great pop tracks, pure fun Disadvantages: They only went and split up
...The wonderstuff formed in the mid-eighties, and were one of the biggest influences to my music listening there has ever been. Their mix of pop, with their outspoken views drew me in and still has me bouncing around whenever I take another listen.

This spawned the irresistible pop-moment that is,”The size of a cow”. That had us all bopping, and quickly shot them to fame.
The band took a long time off between...

Advantages: Just great music making throughout Disadvantages: There's not more of it
...Back in the early 90's a friend gave me a tape of this album. I didn't really know anything about Miles Davis apart from the fact he was a jazz trumpeter.
I do remember listening to this a lot. Every night as i was winding down, going to bed.
I didn't know the name of the album or anything more about it. When my fascination with Miles' music began about three years ago I had forgotten all about it.
Then on Amazon I saw the title, "Doo bop" and immediately remembered who and what it was.
So I bought it. Once again, 15 years later, I listen to it all the time.
First, this is not Jazz. This is a hip hop, early hip hop, album. There are all the beats and sounds that you expect from this kind of music. Miles is simply left to blow over the tunes with a beautifully subtle tone. Not close recorded like alot of his jazz offerings...
