...than jake live on the borders and boundires tour, i became very impressed with hte songs they played from the album. (magnetic north, suburban myth, look what happend, gainesville rock city, pete jacksons getting married and last hour of tyhe last day of work).i started listening to the album again and enjoyed listening to these particular songs. however the rest of the album still didnt match up to the previous releases and will never be as memorable ... ...to underestimate the excellency of Borders And Boundries. Both are two different albums. Losing Streak was more of a punk rock with horns deal. Borders and Boundries shows that the band is maturing both musically and lyrically. The famous LTJ humor is still evident, but not as abundant as on past releases. Another major change is the amount that Roger, the bassist sings. Sometimes, he sings entire songs! Almost every song has a little bit of Roger ...

This is the latest of the Less Than Jake albums, but although not their worst, it’s not their best effort either. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a big fan and the tracks on this album are good, but that’s all they are… good. None of them ever reach the ska-punk perfection of ‘Johnny quest thinks we’re sellouts’, ‘All my best friends are metalheads’ or ‘Automatic’, which is a shame because ...
...nothing wrong with this album, and I am probably being slightly harsh because it is still enjoyable to listen to, and comes with that fun, entertaining factor that all their previous albums have had. Borders and Boundaries is the new album from Less Than Jake and from my point of view it is more of their fantastic music. They have changed their sound slighly and noew sound more like Punk than Ska-Punk, this is a good progression and works realy well. In writting this new album they have changed to a new record label, Fat Wreck Chords, the record company setup by the NOFX bass player Fat Mike. This makes a change from Capitol Records as Fat Wreck ...
...to be getting better and I would hope to see them going from strength to strength this year. They are a band which are also quite friendly to the UK, they have in the last year had two tour over here. If you can go to see them live, they are tremendous.
