Born In The USA (Japanese Vinyl Replica Edition) [Digipak] - Bruce Springsteen

Advantages: Even Springsteen below his best outdoes most of the competition
Disadvantages: Not up to the standards his fans have come to expect

...It is often said that Bruce Springsteen is an artist who has never released a bad album and while this is true, the closest he has come is almost certainly this and the simultaneously released Lucky Town which, despite being hits, were disappointing to many of The Boss`s fans. Like Born In The USA, Human Touch goes for a radio-friendly and overly commercial rock feel which does away with much of the more personal, meaningful, story-telling lyrical style which Sprigsteen made his trademark on earlier releases. It`s not bad and by no means a total sell-out, but there`s nothing there to really get to you in the way that standout tracks on Born To Run, The River or even Born In The USA could, although the title track is a rousing number. With the high standards set by his previous releases this must be considered a poor effort... Read review

...This is by far the best album that Bruce Springsteen has released. it has probably the best song he has ever sung on it, Born In The USA. It also has other great songs including Cover Me, Darlington County, Working On The Highway, Glory Days and My Hometown. The inset has a full list of lyrics which can come in handy when having a sing along! I bought this album more than 2 years ago and on a recent plane journey I listened to it all the way through twice. If you haven't already got a CD by Bruce Springsteen, this is the one to get as some other CDs by him have some dodgy songs on. The CD is flawless and if he can continue to churn out hits like Born In The USA he could be huge in the UK.... Read review

...track to sing along to. Born in the USA is Springsteen "anthem" like Bohemian Rhapsody is to Queen. This song is a hard rocking fantastic track, probably one of my favourites of his. It just makes you want to turn the volume up and let everyone hear it. Yes it's a "I Love America" track but so what it's a great track. My Hometown is quite a touching song that makes you think about where you were raised, Glory Days is about Springsteen's high-school days, Great vocals and a great song. 1.
