When this album starts, and the first strains of 'Thunder Road' begin, you, the listener are hooked. Springsteen sings with a heartfelt passion and believability that continues to awe his fans. Combine that with lyrics that could have come from an anthology of poetry, and the vibrant music of the E-street band, and you have Born to Run. The image Springsteen paints is of a city so tangible, you can see it when you close your eyes. Taken through the high-points of this city (Born to Run) to the low points (Meeting across the River), this album culminates in the epic 'Jungleland' which would not look out of place on a Broadway musical. This album transcends genre, and time, and is an essential part of any collection. This is an album for music lovers, and reminds you why you starting listening to music in the first place.
