This is the brilliant original soundtrack to the 1995 American historical/action drama; Braveheart. The film was produced and directed by the actor Mel Gibson, who also played the main role. It is the story of the real-life Scottish icon; William Wallace. This soundtrack, composed by the commendable James Horner, compliments the film brilliantly, from the action packed moments to the softer and more romantic parts. The celtic inspired elements, such as the relaxing sounds of the flute, really move you as a listener and you can really feel the mood of the story. Horner was also responsible for the Titanic soundtrack, which was also a smash movie. The musical score is performed by the beautiful sounds of the recognised London Smphony Orchestra.
The cover and insides show a couple of scenes from the film, but maybe could have been a little more attractive. This soundtrack won't be as expensive as it was when it was first released, but it is a lovely instrumental cd to listen to. The slower pieces may be relaxing, but the action pieces which are all interlinked may be a little too much to listen quietly too! However, if you are a fan of the film and have watched, you will know which parts are which by listening to this cd.
