Advantages: Lots of lovely versions of some Porter Classics
Disadvantages: A couple of bad notes, and if you don't like Porter, you won't want this album

...It is the rare occasion that finds me buying a movie soundtrack. The main reason for this is that many have some silly background music tracks added to them that frankly, aren't all that fantastic musically, and were probably added just to have enough sound-bites to justify putting out an album. Oh, sure, the soundtrack for "Good Morning Vietnam" is one exception - but who doesn't enjoy hearing Robin Williams doing his run-off-at-the-mouth shtick in addition to some great Rock & Roll? Another exception is this CD - the soundtrack for De-Lovely. You see, from the moment I saw this movie, I knew I was going to buy the soundtrack. I've always loved Cole Porter songs, and this was a way to get a nice collection while also getting an interesting combination of artists performing them. Here's what I think of this CD. Advantages: Many different types of rock and fantstic artists - the best of 2006 and 2007

...A fantastic CD with lot's of different kinds of rock. The best bands of 2006 and 2007 put in one CD. Artists like Snow Patrol, Razorlight, The Fratellies, The Arctic Monkeys, Automatic, The Ordinary Boys, The Killers, Keane, Franz Ferdinand, Kaiser Chiefs, The Kooks and the list goes on. Has two CD's and has 40 tracks, 20 on each CD. Has new up coming artist such as Wolfmother. has many artists winners from the Brits: The Killers who won best national CD and best national band, The Arctic Monkeys won best British CD and best British band. The Fratellis won an award too and many more Brit award winning artists. A fantastic purchase well worth its money. A great buy. I recommend definitely to people anywhere between 8 and 100 if they enjoy that kind of music. It even has some live performing artists such as 'The Arctic Monkeys' on tour... Read review

...'m telling you" - Donna Giles (Stonebridge mix) Great, and, bizarrely, a remake of the theme from the stage musical "Dreamgirls" based on the story of The Supremes... 11. "Weekend" - Todd Terry A very "Chicago" sounding track, as you would expect from Todd Terry, the boss of US house. CD2 1. "Keep on movin'" - Soul II Soul (club mix) This great track has always been a bit overshadowed by the follow up from Jazzie B and the friends, "Back To Life (However Do You Want Me)" with Caron Wheeler. Shame. 2. "Wishing on a star" - Fresh 4 A hundred people have done covers of this song, including, recently, "The Modfather" Paul Weller. This bare bones version is OK, nothiong special. 3. "Eye know" - De La Soul (the know it all mix) That whisting song from the "Daisy Age"-ers, although I still prefer "A rollerskating jam"... 4... Read review
