...This CD takes you on a musical journey around the different cultures in Brazil. Most of the songs are in Brazilian Portuguese, so they give you an insight into how the Brazilian people have changed the original Portuguese language and made it their own. A few of the songs are in other languages, such as one in french, which has a very samba like quality to it. This se of a different language mixed in with the native language helps to demonstrate the cultural diversity in Brazil, and the rich education that people can get if they want to. This helps to put to shame the common preconception based on the reports of the many thousands of people in Brazil living in shanty towns. It is true that there are many people living in those squallid conditions, but this CD shows that there is another side to Brazil and that some of the aspects... Read review

Advantages: High-profile Akon, who alone is very talented
Disadvantages: Not sure why it took this to get Akon well-known

..., Beyonce also toppled the track from its top spot in Brazil with her track 'Beautiful Liar' featuring Shakira. 'I Wanna Love You' only managed to peak at #3 in the UK chart, however Akon already had two previous chart toppers to his name in the UK market ('Lonely' and 'Smack That') My main complaint with the track is that I do not appreciate Snoop Dogg's vocals, and feel he is a slightly washed up artist that tries to make his success by going through Heathrow airport with firearms in his luggage. 'I Wanna Love You' was originally supposed to feature a new up and coming rapstar named Plies, however he was removed from the track including his writing credits after being arrested in June 2006 for illegal gun possession. The incident occured when Plies was performing in concert and was told that his set was going to have to finish 15 minutes... Read review
