...A fairly solid CD offering a diverse range of hip hop tracks from the real old skool classics from KRS-One, Sugarhill Gang and Grand Master Flash & The Furious Five to some of your more well known and newer artists such as Eminem LL Cool J and Outkast. IT has tracks that appeal to all ears and is quite inciteful into the world of hip hop both from old times and new. However, some of the tune selections do not perhaps show the true essence of hip hop and I'm astonished that they made it onto the CD. Ja Rule and Ashanti, are they crazy! Some better tracks could have been included. Overall a good CD for the type that it is and there's mainly quality tracks from your favourite artists and some old skool tracks that you may not have already.... Read review

This Hip-Hop classics is one of Kiss's most recent presentations. With 2 discs, there are some great hip-hop classics thrown into this collection. Whether you are a hip-hop fan or not, you will know most, if not all of these hip-hop classics from the 90's and some even earlier. This collection is a 2 disc set, which has 19 songs on each disc. ...As a bboy, I pride myself on being a dignitary as well as a student of Hip Hop culture. This 3 CD set is comprised of some of the most influential artists and songs in the history of hip hop. Not all of the songs were Top 40 songs during their time (thus not many people in mainstream culture have heard them), but they were still VERY influential in the underground hip hop movement. Everything from Big Daddy Kane, A Tribe Called Quest, Grandmaster Flash, Melle Mel and the Furious 5, Afrika Bambaataa, NaS, N.W.A., The 45 King, O.D.B., etc. are on here. This is an EXCELLENT collection of the songs that were an integral part of spreading the influence of hip hop, changing it's style, and bringing it to its present status.
