...Last week end I was just doing my weekly shopping when I remembered that it was one of my friends' Bitrthday. He is a fan of this programme called Brideshead Revisited, so I got him the soundtracks from it as a present. LOOKS and COVER When I was choosing the CD to buy I was attracted by the cover. It was so different and old-fashioned that I decided to go for it. PRICE I paid J7.99 for it, which is quite a bargain for a thing like this Overall Opinion He absolutely loved it and said he listens to it all the time...even its benn the first day he's had it. Advantages: The most powerful Batman score ever composed; an Elfman classic all the way
Disadvantages: So what if it isn't the most sophisticated score in the world?

Advantages: Absolutely fantastic, there's no other word to describe it
Disadvantages: Silly rubber DVD nob and price can be hefty

...the entire book with such scale was definitely a gamble that payed off. With magnificent scenery, authentic costumes, great CGI effects and high production values, The Lord of the Rings certainly is a very handsome film, but the one thing that made an instant impact on me was by far the musical score of Howard Shore, a composer I had never even heard of before. At that time I had roughly 600 CDs of classical music, but no film scores, even though my earliest interest in music had originated in listening to the music found in films (I used to crank up the volume on my TV and play those magnificent moments where there was no dialogue to be found to my heart's content).
