I went I saw and I reviewed Bridget Jones’s Diary as a film and finished it with…..
“Oh and one last thing…The sound track was excellent they fitted great music in at every possible opportunity… All by myself, It’s raining men, Respect, Have you met Miss Jones, I’m every woman and much much more, I might buy the sound track it’s that good.”
And I was told that wouldn’t do as a way as a review of the sound track, so I thought I’d better come and do it properly!!!
I now have a copy of the sound track and it really is an excellent compilation CD, it has a full 19 tracks and you will already know 17 of them and be singing along to at least 12, I’ve never known a film sound track have so many famous names and tracks.
Garbrielle Out of Reach Aretha Franklin Respect Geri Halliwell It’s raining men Robbie Williams Have you met Miss Jones? Chaka Khan I’m every Woman Pretenders Don’t get me Wrong Sheryl Crow Kiss that Girl Shelby Lynne Killin’ Kind Dina Carrol Someone like you Robbie Williams Not of this Earth Andy Williams Can’t take my eyes off of you Rosey Love Diana Ross & Marvin Gaye Stop Look Listen to your heart Shelby Lynne Dreamsome Patrick Doyle It’s only a diary Alisha’s Attic Pretender got my heart Artful Dodger Woman Trouble Aaron Soul Ring, ring, ring
So there is the track list and I feel this sells itself, an excellent film and brilliantly backed up with a stunning array of famous artists and great music. The music is used well within the film too, as kind of punctuation, it even interacts with the characters, for example Bridget Jones was singing along with All By Myself, the music was always relevant and fitted the story perfectly it wasn’t like background music it was part of the film.
However it would still be an excellent CD whether or not you’ve seen the film. Look at the track list see what you think, but it’s a great easy listening CD, whether you’re on your own, messing around singing with friends, holding a dinner party or a romantic meal with loved ones, it makes good background music. I only bought it today and I’ve listened to it through about 4 times without really noticing it repeating…it didn’t even put me off my revision.
Well it is a CD I can’t really say much else except even the inlay card is interesting, still on the theme of the diary a couple of little funny comments like in the diary. A few stills from the film and the general information you get in CD cases like artist, composer, copyright etc.
I still haven’t done it justice but it’s a little better now…perhaps read the film review too it will help.

Great op, I really enjoyed the soundtrack, more than the film in fact (in my opinion the book is better!). I think you've convinced me to 'buy it'. Cheers, Lucy

My favourite is "It's raining men" (even though alot of people think its a poor cover) because it reminds me of one of the scenes from the movie! Good op!
