affair--subtitled "More Music From the Film and Other V.G. Songs", it could be seen to be somewhat stretching the loyalty of wannabe Bridgets everywhere. But then again, when it includes such a great line-up of tracks, it would be churlish to complain. The two glaring omissions from Volume 1 put in a very welcome appearance, namely Van Morrison's "Someone Like You" and Nilsson's "Without You" (albeit without Bridget's somewhat over-exuberant backing vocals), along with the original version of Robbie's "Me and Mrs Jones" by the Dramatics and an acoustic version of the Gabrielle hit "Out of Reach". Nestling comfortably alongside them are a wealth of tracks for the modern singleton--empowerment in the form of En Vogue's "My Lovin' (You're Never Gonna Get It)", feel-good sentiments from McAlmont and Butler's "Yes" and a good bit of wallowing courtesy of Yvonne Fair's "It Should Have Been Me". The only things that are missing are the free bottle of Chardonnay and the big pants. --Helen Marquis

The only reason i bought this was, simply to take advantage of a 4 CDS for £20 offer in Virgin Megastore. Admittedly I didn't remember half the songs from the film itself, but decicded that i could get quite a few worse CDs for that price and judging by the fact that I liked the soundtrack to the first film, I thought I'd give it a shot.
Tracks:
1. Will Young - Your Love is King 2. Jamelia - Stop 3. Kylie Minogue - Can't get You Out of My Head 4. Joss Stone - Super Duper Love (are you diggin' on me?) 5. Mary J. Blige - Sorry Seems to be the Hardest Word 6. Robbie Williams - Misunderstood 7. Jamie Cullum - Everlasting Love 8. Barry White - Your The First, The Last, My Everything 9. Beyonce, feat Jay Z - Crazy In Love 10. Rufus Wainwright feat Dido - I Eat Dinner 11. 10cc - I'm Not In Love 12. Carley Simon - Nobody Does it Better 13. Primal Scream - Loaded 14. The Darkness - I Believe In a Thing Called Love 15. Amy Winehouse - Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow 16. Minnie Riperton - Loving You 17. Aretha Franklin - Think 18. Leona Naess - Calling 19. Sting feat Annie Lennox - We'll be Together 20. Harry Gregson-Williams - Bridgets Theme
As it is the soundtrack to a romantic comedy, as you would expect most of the songs have a slightly mushy edge to them...so if thats not your kind of thing...... Having said that there are some absolute classics in there as well as some relatively new songs. I tend to prefer the classics such as Barry White and Aretha Franklin, but the newer songs are just as good. I really like Mary J.Blige's cover of Sorry Seems to be the Hardest Word, it has very little backing music, so in a way is almost accoustic, but not quite, it does, however, really make her voice stand out. I wasn't so keen on Jamie Cullums version of Everlasting Love, but its still catchy tune. The only songs that I didn't really like were Can't Get You Out of my Head by Kylie Minogue and I Believe ina Thing Called Love by the Darkness, but I guess thats just my own opinion, and I figured that having 2 tracks out of 20 that I didn't like was quite good really. I wouldn't say I like it as much as the soundtrack to the first film, but its still good. Whereas with the first album I would actively pick out the songs i wanted to listen to and then play them full blast on my stereo (well not quite), this album tends to be more background music.
If you liked the film then I would definitely get this, or if you just wanted some romantic music it is a good one as well.
It seems to be fairly cheap at the moment as well with Amazon selling it for just £6.97, always good!!
Advantages: A wide range of songs to listen too Disadvantages: Could be considered cheesy
This soundtrack is as great as the first and, as the music intertwines and weaves the characters through their second set of escapades. The music really does encapsulate the mood of the second movie.
Each of these musical tracks laid down recreates the mood of this wonderful movie, which one can almost visualise when one closes one's eyes.
The range of artistes which have contributed to this awesome sound track are quiet amazing and range from ... ...So even if you have not seen the movie there is some great music to listen to. This is a CD for all occasions and will fit any mood that one has ranging from cleaning the house; to those times when one just wants to chill and reflect.
This is definitely a buy for family, friends and loved ones in fact an ideal stocking filler for Christmas and one which you should not pass off. ...

Advantages: Great variety: well known hits, beautiful songs and amazing covers Disadvantages: Last two songs are a fairly boring
In my opinion, if you loved the film, you will love the soundtrack! I thought the covers on this album were brilliant, such as Will Young's version of Your Love Is King, and Mary J Blige's version of Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word. Some of the songs on this album are very "mushy", but personally I see this as a bonus (let's face it, the film is pretty mushy and girly but that's what we love about it) and there are some more uplifting, upbeat ... ...by The Darkness.
The highlight of the album in my opinion, is I Eat Dinner. It is such a beautiful song and I'm so glad they included it in both the film and the soundtrack. I like the fact that the album consists of songs which have been huge hits, aswell as some great songs which most people will not have heard before, not forgtting the amazing covers.
Overall, the CD is definitely worth the money, and I would certainly recommend this soundtrack ...
