In my opinion, if you loved the film, you will love the soundtrack! I thought the covers on this album were brilliant, such as Will Young's version of Your Love Is King, and Mary J Blige's version of Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word. Some of the songs on this album are very "mushy", but personally I see this as a bonus (let's face it, the film is pretty mushy and girly but that's what we love about it) and there are some more uplifting, upbeat songs, such as I Believe In A Thing Called Love by The Darkness.
The highlight of the album in my opinion, is I Eat Dinner. It is such a beautiful song and I'm so glad they included it in both the film and the soundtrack.
I like the fact that the album consists of songs which have been huge hits, aswell as some great songs which most people will not have heard before, not forgtting the amazing covers.
Overall, the CD is definitely worth the money, and I would certainly recommend this soundtrack to anybody who enjoyed the film. You will find that all of the memorable songs from the film are featured from the CD. I would even recommend it to those who haven't seen the film, as every song on the album, except perhaps We'll Be Together, which I found fairly boring, is great.
