Same Ol' Situation? No not this time
Review of Dr. Feelgood (Expanded) [ECD] [Remastered] - Motley Crue by  pinkmatchstick

Advantages: Don't do drugs, kids!
Disadvantages: Still hard to take them seriously

...screeching, shouting and noise: leading into the title track: "he's the one they call Dr Feelgood", Mick moves up the scales. If you are going to name your album after one of the tracks it better be good. It is. It is also about dealing. Slice Of Your Pie: anyone who heard Piece Of Your Action will know all about this. Good time (cock) rock and roll. As is Rattlesnake Shake "shake, shake, shake", apparently about a movement made by a member of the opposite sex during something the band like doing frequently.....yes, it's Kickstart My Heart, all about Mr Sixx's by now legendary death-brought-back-to-life gig. Gotta say it's pretty damn impressive too. Ballad time!! Without You....gorgeous, power ballad. Lovely tune, no seriously, really is. The hilarious SOS follows..two lesbians, "all around the world, girls will be girls... Read review

If it aint stiff it aint worth a ****
Review of Stiff Records Box Set by  brownp1

Advantages: A mix of the classics + no hit wonders who deserve a 2nd listen
Disadvantages: The last disc tails off abit, but 3½ discs are excellent

...), the couple of hit wonders (Tenpole Tudor, Lene Lovitch), the cult Heroes (Wreckless Eric, Kirsty MacColl), and the complete unknowns (Mickey Jupp, Lew Lewis). The surprise is that while I was originally interested in the early 80’s it is the records from the mid to late 70s which are the best, when Stiff was really at the cutting edge and all the records had that roughness that makes the song sound real, and not the plastic rubbish around today. A history lesson first: In 1975 the music business was in a similar state to today with the charts being dominated by serious musos or kiddie pop (think Radiohead or S Club for a 90s comparison) and the punk ethos not yet launched. Jake Riviera and Dave Robinson, managers of several pub rock bands, decided to launch their own label with £400 borrowed from Lee Brilleaux, Dr Feelgood’s singer... Read review

DR DRE'S FIRST SOLO ALBUM
Review of Chronic, The [PA] - Dr. Dre by  kris2769

Advantages: Everything about it.
Disadvantages: There is non.

...This album is a clear masterpiece from start to finish, every track is superb, with amazing lyrics and beats, which isn't suprising considering the fact that Dr Dre produced the whole album himself. Dr Dre is joined in this album by fellow rapper and friend Snoop Doggy Dogg, who provides some amazing lyrics with his unique and unmatchable style. Together Dr Dre and Snoop Dogg are untouchable. Made in 1992 this album was the first of its kind, leaving the old school style of Dr Dre's former group N.W.A behind. Dre Dre shows no limits in this album, the album caused great controversy due to its lyrical content, which isn't suprising considering the fact that every track includes 'Nigga' 'Bitch's' and 'Muthafucka'. this album is a true 'Gangstarap' album. "1 2 3 and to the 4, Snoop Doggy Dogg and Dr Dre is at the door, ready to make... Read review
