Advantages: Shrewd selection of songs, intelligently sequenced and tastefully executed Disadvantages: Her voice may not be to everyone's taste, prejudiced public perception may count against its chances

The intention of this album, quite clearly, is to bring the former Mrs Andrew Lloyd-Webber back into what could tenuously be considered the "mainstream". La Luna has major label backing (the mighty Warner Brothers' European division EastWest), and a shrewdly selected collection of material that mixes the modern (emerging artist Dido's Here With Me), the vintage (Procul Harum's 1969 No.1 A Whiter Shade Of Pale, Simon & Garfunkel's delicately exquisite Scarborough Fair) with a clutch of familiar standards.

Advantages: Belinda Carlisle in his maximum brilliance Disadvantages: Nothing. Is a perfect album.
...from the first one up to the last song.
For her third record production Belinda Carlisle possessed the collaboration of exceptional artists. The double one of the brilliant composers Rick Nowels/Ellen Shipley, was added by the special participations of the Canadian rocker Bryan Adams(Who sang in the choir of the song "Whatever it takes"), the ex-Beatle George Harrison(Who to play the guitar in the successful song "Leave to light on" and the guitar and the double-bass in "Deep deep ocean"), her unconditional friend Charlotte Caffey(With whom Belinda composed intimate "Shades of Michaelangelo") and the prestigious chorus-singers Maria Vidal and Donna DeLory.

Advantages: Great lyrics, good music, wonderfully talented artist Disadvantages: She's no longer with us.
...This is the second Kirsty MacColl that I bought; the first being Galore (I have written a review on that aswell). I've only had it a week but I have already listened to the whole of it lots of times. It is very Latino as Kirsty (R.I.P) was heavily influenced by Latin countries such as Brazil and Cuba. In the years leading up to this album been released in early 2000, she spent a lot of time visiting these countries. She famously posed lighting a giant Cuban cigar on the front cover for her hit single 'Caroline'. I thought that the album would be entirely Latino, but there are breaks from it. It unfortunately only managed no. 39 in the UK Charts and within 9 weeks it had been knocked out altogether.
