The next track, I'm a Man by Bo Didley is interesting. It is still obviously The Blues, yet it is Chicago Blues, vastly different from the Delta Blues that Howlin' Wolf is such a fine exponent of. However, one thing you must realise about Bo Didley is that although Bo Didley performs in the Chicargo Blues idiom, Bo Didley is, first and foremost, Bo Didley. When they made Bo Didley, they broke the mould. His style is truly unique. Apparently even to the extent of making his own guitar effects such as a wah wah unit from an old alarm clock before the wah wah unit was heard of.
The songs are not politically correct. But then, they reflect the harsh reality of lives gone bad. Your Funeral and My Trial sung by Sonny Boy ...

Lina is devastated when her mother Isabel marries a rich American man and they both have to leave their home in East LA and move to West LA into a big, posh house and a new stepsister she isn't mad keen on. Lina struggles to fit in, and it's made worse by Cheerleading team Jaguars captain Avery who is determined to put down Lina down at every turn. Lina's new step sister Skyler persuades her to join their own cheerleading team, the Sea Lions, but unfortunately they aren't very good and Lina can't turn them around on her own. She recruits her friends Treyvonetta and Gloria from East LA and the trio set about transforming the Sea Lions. Avery senses they are a threat, and soon the two teams are going head to head at the All Star Spirit Championships. It's a fight to the finish... who will be victorious?

That's not to say BringingIt All Back Home is without laughs - far fromit. For every heady, disturbing moment there's a jocular, absurd counter - the famous false-start of Bob Dylan's 115th Dream being a prime example, both artist and engineers erupting in a fit of giggles at the end of the first line. On The Road Again, too, is as playful as anything he's ever done, feeling more like something off the preceding Another Side Of Bob Dylan, the last of the purely acoustic records, than the proceeding Highway 61 Revisited.
Depending on the time of day, BringingIt All Back Home is either my favourite or second-favourite Bob Dylan album - it swaps position regularly with the mid-70s break-up masterpiece Blood On The Tracks. As aware as I am of every lick ...
