The Chemical Brothers are two guys called Tom and Ed; the pair met while at university in Manchester in the late eighties. At this time a revolution was going on, a musical revolution. These days were the days of the legendary Manchester club The Hacienda. Dance music was really beginning to take off in all it's forms wether it be the vocal, funky house from America or acid house, hardcore or techno. Tom and Ed fell in love with this emerging scene. Advantages: As good as it gets

...Forced to change their name from the “Dust Brothers” after threat of a law-suit from the American production team their name paid homage to, the Chemical Brothers released their first album “Exit Planet Dust” in 1995. With most of the UK plunged deep into Brit Pop/Indie Rock scene, this big beat sound being thrashed across the decks of London nightclubs by Ed Simons and Tom Rowlands wasn’t exactly cutting edge, but had a certain aura about it. The album kicks off with the sample “The brothers’ gonna work it out” before the ground-trembling base-line of “Leave Home” starts up, and then we’re off. Possibly the best song, “Dust Up Beats” is up next with the anthem “Song To The Siren” following. The second half of “Exit Planet Dust” is a lot more laid back, with “Life Is Sweet” and “Chico’s Groove” bringing a more ambient feel... Read review

Advantages: their singles were all successfull so this album is therefore great.

...Over the years the chemical brothers have made some outstanding music and are one of the only electronic dance acts who are able to hold large sell out live acts. Not only have their singles always been a huge success in the UK charts but many of their singles have also been famous worldwide and are a very popular choices in the night clubs abroad. The album starts of with their earliest single release Song To The Siren which started of as a release on the DJ circuit but soon became very popular and kicked off the big beat phenomenon which rapidly grew popular with other artists like the prodigy and fatboy slim doing the same. The track is very loud and has solid beat with sirens and melodiesall in sync. The album then progresses with their next two big hits Chemical Beats and Leave Home which both have a similar sound...
