Advantages: Great on light hair
Disadvantages: Not so great on really dark hair

...I have naturally dark brown hair. Having previously coloured my hair with Smart Highlights (Red), My next move was to change from the red highlights to purple. Having used the Smart Highlights twice in a 6 week period (due to colour fade). The areas I had planned to colour were faded to a rather awful shade of orangey-pink. This previously coloured area was also quite brittle and not in very good condition, so I was hesitant to be persistently be colouring it. Where the Smart Highlights are a demi-permentant colour, the Schwarzkopf Live Wild Lights, claim to be permanent. A much better option for me, as the demi-perms were fading too quickly. Advantages: Impeccable set and costume design.
Disadvantages: A lurid over-reliance on sex and gore.

...Hallward is the buffer between the bohemian world and high society, acting as a moderating influence, which is why you know he?s not going to live long. Dorian?s conquests are largely faceless, including his grand amour Sybil Vane, who is basically written as a sacrificial lamb. New character Emily Wotton is a thoroughly modern (for the early twentieth century) bluestocking, who is meant to be the perfect foil for Dorian, but feels contrived. The dialogue fails to capture the waspish wit of Oscar Wilde and there are many leaden exchanges. Ben Barnes doesn?t have what it takes to convince as evil incarnate as the title character. He does better in the opening stages of the film, even if he is playing Dorian as a stereotypical unworldly country boy. Advantages: Great direction, acting and storyline!
Disadvantages: its a long film which needs to be watched alone

...Into the wild is based on the real life of Christopher McCandless (played by Emile Hirsch) as written in Jon Krakauer's best-selling book Into the Wild. An intelligent honours grad from Emory University, Christopher rebels against his domineering and materialistic parents by escaping into the wild of America in an attempt to live free from all money, objects and possessions. Christopher has recently graduated from college but before even know his results, he donates the majority of his savings ($24,000) to Oxfam and sets out in his old car to find his ideal life in Alaska. His car is son lost in a flash flood and he is left to hitch the rest of his journey across America.
