Apologies for the lack of opinions lately. I've been on holiday and had a spot of writers block. I'm not entirely happy about the new scheme for rewards, but I should still be writing again soon. :)

I bought this album purely because I like the show, but it’s actually just a really good album anyway.
Many of artists are my practically unknown, and some are even unsigned, but a lot are very talented and capable musicians and I think producers chose the tracks well. They go as follows…
1. The BtVS theme 2. Teenage FBI by Guided by Voices, taken from “The I in Team”, Season 4 3. Temptation Waits by Garbage 4. Strong by Velvet Chain, taken from “Never Kill a Boy on a First Date”, Season 1 5. I Quit by Hepburn 6. Over My Head by Furslide 7. Lucky by Bif Naked, taken from “The Harsh Light of Day”, Season 4 8. Keep Myself Awake by Black Lamb, taken from “The I in Team”, Season 4 9. Virgin State of Mind by K’s Choice, taken from “Doppelgangland”, Season 3 10. Already Met You by Superfine, taken from “Teacher’s Pet”, Season 1 11. Face to Face (God is a Man) by Devil You Know, taken from “Wild at Heart”, Season 4 12. Nothing But You by Kim Ferron, taken from “Beer Bad”, Season 4 13. It Doesn’t Matter by Alison Krauss, taken from “When she was Bad”, season 2 14. Wild Horses by Sundays, taken from “The Prom”, Season 3 15. Pain by Four Star Mary (aka Dingoes Ate My Baby – Oz’s band), taken from “Deadman’s Party”, Season 3 16. Charge by Splendid, taken from “I Only have Eyes For You”, Season 2 17. Transylavanian Concubine by Rasputina, taken from “Surprise”, Season 2 18. Close Your Eyes (the Buffy and Angel love theme) by Christopher Beck, taken from “Becoming”, Season 2
Most are bands featured on the show in the Bronze or in the background as a reflection on the characters lives.
The first and last track are instrumental pieces, though both quite different The first is a real heavy rock, head banging and catchy tune whilst the last could almost be counted as classical. Viewers will remember it as the piece where Buffy is forced to kill her one true love (Angel) to save the world, so it’s quite dramatic and poignant, and very beautiful.
The rest of the tracks are mostly a mixture of American rock and pop.
I particularly like Bif Naked’s ‘Lucky’, which is a truly fantastic and unforgettable song and track number 17, which you’ll recall as the one Drusilla dances to at her birthday party. It’s very strange and very gothic, a surprisingly appealing mixture of drums, violins and a unique voice, that just makes you want to get up and dance.
But my absolute favourite has got to K’s Choice’s ‘Virgin State of Mind’. I’ve listened to it a million times and the lyrics still don’t make sense to me! However it is a brilliant song. It has a very simple melody and barely any instruments in the background, but the tune is extremely catchy and the woman who sings has an incredible voice.
Track 4 is the only track which I really don’t like. Like tracks 3 and 6 it hasn’t actually been featured on the show at all, but unlike the others it doesn’t seem to fit in with the rest of the CD at all. It’s a very unoriginal, dull pop song by an already fading British band.
Essentially, this is a CD for obsessive Buffy fans who just want to have every piece of possible merchandise, but lovers of original rock and pop would also enjoy.
