Being an avid Buffy fan, i was happy that Fox planned to release a Buffy soundtrack CD but also a little weary about what to expect. The music on the show never struck me as being something i would enjoy (Pops normally what i listen to) However the actual Musical scores were always good. So i decided to give it a go and hope i enjoyed it. I was very suprised about the brilliance of nearly all the tracks on the cd and now its never off my cd player. Heres my track by track review.

Nerf Herder: Buffy The Vampire Slayer Theme
You all know it, the theme to the show, unfortunatly its really short and exasctly the same as the version herd on tv (clocking in at less then a minute) Its a shame the music couldnt of progressed and made into a longer piece of music. But still brilliant
9/10

Guided By Vioces: Teenage FBI
Nice song, real American rocky sound, good to turn up loud. Not one of the best, but still listenable.
5/10

Garbage: Temptation Waits
Only ever been a fan of a couple of Garbage tracks, and this one is not one of them. A poor atempt at a song, surly if it was essential Garbage were included, a better song should of been used.
2/10

Velvet Chain: Strong
A freaky song this, really haunting, its ok, but nothing special really. Goes along without going anywhere
5/10

Hepburn: I Quit
A song that stands out from the album, not only cuz its a totally 100% pop song, but also one of the best, a great tune, great vocals! nice to here English accents on the American based album! nice.
8/10

Furslide: Over My Head
Not one for me, nice guitar but the vocals are awful, i really dont like this at all.
2/10

Bif Naked: Lucky
The first ballad on the album, and a brilliant choice. Stunning voice which is incredably powerful towards the end of the song, Great lyrics, very sad love song. Totally amazing, after hearing this i bought the Bif Naked album and wasnt dissapointed at all. Brilliant. The real stand out track
10/10

Black Lab: Keep Myself Awake
An alright mid-tempo song, not as bad as some of the hard rocky song, and quite nice vocals. Not bad at all.
7/10

K's Choice: Virgin State Of Mind
Another great choice to be put on the cd, one of my faves, crazy lyrics (#theres a chair on my head, which i used to sit..now theres a key, where my wonderful mouth used to be....)hmmm a bit crazy! a nice mid-tempo song, which i love, the crazy lyrics just make it even better, another great tune!
9/10

Superfine: Already Met You
Not a bad song, pretty avarage though, nothing that sticks out and certainly not one of the best but nice enough. Not sure on the singers voice though.
5/10

Face To Face: The Devil You Know (God Is A Man)
One for the rockers here, although its not my cup of tea, i can see the good points about it, i can see people who like hardcore rock music loving this and fair enough! it aint too bad
4/10 (9/10 if u love rock!)

Kim Ferron: Nothing But You
A great artist, lovely vioce and a great song to go with it, real great chorus, nice lyrics too. I really like this one, great guitar bits in it as well, great mid-tempo song
9/10

Alison Krauss And The Union Station: It Doesnt Matter
Probably the best song on here, from the best artist, highly established Alison Krauss is probably the most famouis group on here, and the song proves that, an incredably chilling love song, mostly acousic with just the guitar shopws her incredable voice and songwriters talents. The song is quite simply amazing. Brilliant. Id also recommend her album "Forget About It". The best song by far (Bif Naked coming 2nd)
11/10

The Sundays: Wild Horses
Another great love song, real prettty this one and another amazing voice, not as great as It Doesnt Matter but still up there witht he best of them.
9/10

Four Star Mary: Pain (Slayer Mix)
Not into this one, one of the worst on here, a shame after all the good tracks but its a let-down. Pretty boring attempt at rock from previously unsigned band Four Star Mary
2/10

Splendid: Charge
Nice guitar at the beggining, nice tune a bit too rocky for my liking but i can see its potential as a good rock song. Its alright but i skip it.
4/10

Rasputina: Transylcanian Concubine
A bit of a werid one this, its great and i love it. But very odd. hard to put in a catorgorie, great song though, nice how the verse is all quite and the chrous is very loud! i like alot
8/10

Chistophe Beck: Close Your Eyes
A peiece of music all Buffy fans love but hate, the music from when Buffy had to send angel to hell. The amazing music won Emmy's and was praised over and over for its brilliance. and its obvious why, the sad piano affair made the scene 100x more sad and listening to it on cd has the same effect. Brilliant piece of music from a brilliant composer
10/10

Overall a mixed album, its a shame to see such brilliant songs sitting next to some pretty dire tracks, but still its definatly worth the money as there is something for everyone.
Casing is nice but a bit tacky. Shame some new pictures of the case couldnt be used.

Oooh forgot about one last thing, the final song from Season 2 of Buffy was titled "Full Of Grace" by Sarah McLachlan, many people loved that song and were dissapointed when it wasnt included on the soundtrack. Id recommend buying Sarah's album simply for that song as its fantastic and if included on this album would of been my fave track, its a shame it wasnt.
