The District Nurse suggested that I try some Nestle Build-up, at that time I had heard of them but that was as much as I knew.
The chemist stocked them in strawberry, vanilla, chocolate and banana flavour, I chose the strawberry flavour knowing that Mum enjoyed that fresh taste.
I fully understood that as much as Mum wanted to be able to enjoy some `real food` at that point in time she just wasn't able to cope with it.
Nestle Build-Up was a good way forward, at least the fruity milk shakes were easy to drink and simple to digest and they made me feel secure in the knowledge that I was at least trying to help the situation along.
There are four separate sachets of Nestle Build-Up in each box and I paid somewhere in the region of £2.50 for the box at our local pharmacy.

I often get asked, is breakdown cover worth having? My answer to that is very simply, yes, particularly if you do a lot of motorway driving. No matter who you are and where you live, a car will breakdown at the most inconvenient time and leave you totally stranded, even the most reliable cars breakdown.
As a young apprentice mechanic running old bangers I wish I'd had breakdown cover then as my old bangers were always breakingdown at the most awkward times & I had my fair share of them.
On my way to a first date all dressed up & the clutch cable broke! Another car & another broken clutch cable this time on the main street in town at 5pm on double yellow lines & in a bus lane! A puncture at 4am in the morning in pouring rain, coming home from an important date! Oh, the joys of motoring!

6) Oh well I never thought my 60 year old car would breakdown, it has never done this before and I am not in an breakdown service, what do I do now. This causes immense problems and the police can either ring a relative who can come out to rescue you or if one of the breakdown services are not busy they will come out to you but you have to have a credit card as they ask you to join up straight away and it costs nearly £100. Alternatively the police can get out a rotary garage out to you but in their own rights they can keep the car until you pay up. This is also very expensive and can cost up to £150.
