Buleria - David Bisbal

...Buleria is Bisbal´s first work like a independent artist after OT. Here you can find latin rithm happy melodies and sweet, sad balads. He has a beautiful voice but also dances with energy and passion (teenagers think he is sooo sexy heheh ;-p). First of all, Bisbal does´nt sing jazz and blues hahah Nothing more different. He is a latin singer like Ricky Martin (when he dances with tropical and fast rithm) or like Luis Miguel ( when he sings slow balads).

In fact I´m not a big fan of Bisbal and making a review of him is actually an excuse for talking about Operación Triunfo de music contest who made him a star and was a really fever for teenagers ( and not teenagers) of Spain. There was an instant in my country that everyone knows who were David Bisbal, David Bustamante, Gisela, Chenoa and most of all, Rosa (called Rosa de España :-O) and all the others contestants. They were in tv. They were in the radio. They were in the gums and in the moviles. They were everywhere.

Operación Triunfo was created for the public channel to promote in Spain Eurovision the music contest what was losing interest in the spanish population ( maybe the fact that we never win since almost two decades has something to do about it ;-p). The producers don´t have any idea about the incredible big merchandising factory that they have made. But when they know it they were happy to explode their money-machine-discover ad nauseam. Until spanish people say: Good. It´s done. If I have to see another edition of OT I´m going berserker.

But before this the constestants could enjoy the best experience in their young lives : the complete and glorious fame. A very short but brilliant fame. And the first priority of the program was acomplished too: Eurovision had the best levels of audience of his history in Spain. Surprisingly Bisbal who was the idol of the contest didn´t win and so he went to the Eurovision to participate in the chores. Rosa and her big voice (and big body) was a kind of new cinderella .That night everyone was in their homes watching tv and hoping ( leaving their common sense in the wardrobe) Rosa de España with her "song" "Europe is living a celebration" won and recovered our eurovision pride (hehehe ;-P). But it doesn´t happen. And If you are fan of eurovision like I am, you know what countries can actually win because the rates are actually politic rates. All the countries vote their neighboors except Portugal and France that never votes Spain if they can ( hahah the votes are my favourite part of the contest. In Spain we had a good comentarist that could anticipate every vote year after year only with a map and knowing where were each country. The songs changed every year. Votes did´nt ;-p).

Rosa falled in the memory. Now she is almost nobody in Spain. Other contestants like Chenoa have their wealthy careers inside Spain ( but only a few). Bisbal exploded in SudAmerica and is actually the star of OT. The boy who made his dreams come true. And althought his music is not my favourite, he is a good person and his fame had´nt change him ( seems imposible, right? but he is a very unique person). Tele 5 (another private channel) is going to produce the fourth edition ( or it´s the third, sorry but after the lose of interest in the second edition I really don´t know if the first channel could do the third edition) but the winner of the contest won´t go to Eurovision next year. In fact our representatives in the contest this year won a little contest in the first channel but It wasn´t a reality about a singing and dancing school like the others Operación Triunfo.
