I attended the actual gig myself in Milton Keynes and it was amazing !!! There were over 65 thousand people that attended over two nights - Green Days biggest yet. I waited for this CD/DVD to come out very impatiently as I couldnt wait to reminise. Once purchased, i immediately put into my DVD player to watch. This is a documentary/ concert. In between each song, the band speak for a couple of minutes about various things relating to American Idiot. Although it is very interesting and knowledgeable, I think it ruins the flow of the concert and can be a little disheartening. Also, I feel once you have watched in this format a couple of times, you don't need to hear the "facts and figures", you just want to get along with the concert. The songs chosen for the DVD were suited to mainstream and maybe not the hardcore Green Day fans as such. Green Day have a song which is split into two tracks but they only have shown one half of this which is really ruined it for me. Brilliant DVD with smashing effects and camera angles, but it definately didnt show true potential, there was so much material there that could have been used.
1. American Idiot 2. Jesus Of Suburbia 3. Holiday 4. Are We Waiting 5. St. Jimmy 6. Longview 7. Hitchin' A Ride 8. Brain Stew 9. Basket Case 10. King For A Day / Shout 11. Wake Me Up When Sepetmber Ends 12. Minority 13. Boulevard Of Broken Dreams 14. Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)
Advantages: Great Live Performance Disadvantages: Same Old Green Day
Being quite a big fan of Green Day, I had to own this CD, and if your like me, you will probably be dying to own it as well. The thing is, if you have never seen or heard Green Day live, then you HAVE to buy this CD, but if like me, and you have seen them and heard them live countless times, then your better off looking elsewhere and buying into another band. The live performance is fantastic, every song is flawless, every lyric is sang as if it ... ...to win me over. The set list is poorly chosen. Songs 1-5 are straight from the American Idiot album, obviously aiming at all the new 'fans' to get them involved straight away. This is OK, but then this only leaves space for 7 songs from their back catalogue, which is incredibly frustrating for fans like me, who grew up with Dookie, Nimrod and Warning. The only highlight for me is a live performance of Time Of Your Life, arguably Green Day's best ...

Additional notes
Album Notes: In the summer of 2005, Green Day performed in front of some of its largest crowds ever quite an achievement for a band that crashed into the mainstream back in 1994, with the release of their seminal pop-punk album DOOKIE. With catchy melodies, smart songwriting, and a strong sense of humor, band members Billy Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, and Al Sobrante had an enormous impact on the musical culture of the '90s. The band has had its ups and downs since then, but they achieved another big hit and a new level of critical respect with 2004's powerful rock opera AMERICAN IDIOT. Their searing performances at Britain's enormous Milton Keyes National Bowl provides the material for this concert film, which is directed by Samuel Bayer, the man behind their acclaimed Boulevard of Broken Dreams video. Hits from IDIOT are played here side-by-side with old standbys like 'Basket Case', 'Longview', and 'Minority'.
