Been a massive Dave Matthews Band fan I just had to send in another review.
Most of this album is also known as The Lillywhite Sessions and is up for grabs on thousands of internet sites and on multiple downloading engines. But the same songs on Busted Stuff have a much more crisper feeling.
Busted Stuff- A fairly good opener. It's kind of quiet but has a great tune. Seems about a lost girlfriend.
Grey Street- One of the best in DMB's repitoire and on the CD. It's upbeat, has great lyrics, and makes you want to get up and dance. This is probably the best song on the CD.
Where Are You Going- DMB's first single off this album. Nothing special here, just seems like album filler.
You Never Know- Sounds a little better in concert, but is kind of remincescent of Before These Crowded Streets. Great violin in this track.
Captain- It's OK recorded, much better live. A soft song with a little funk in the bass.
Raven- Sounds like classic DMB saxophone, a great track on this CD. A little more upbeat than the past 3 tracks.
Grace is Gone- The 2nd single off this CD is again quiet. It has thoughtful lyrics, but that's about it.
Kit Kat Jam- A great insturmental track! Upbeat and exciting, but no Dave Matthews voice. Such a shame.
Digging A Ditch- Boring filler. Very quiet.
Big Eyed Fish- Great guitar licks on this song. Once again, sounds like it belongs on Before These Crowded Streets.
Finally, Bartender: Good closer. The snare drum is real tight, and the bagpipe sounds add a lot.
If you're a die-hard Dave Matthews fan, you MUST get this CD. It's much better than Everyday. But if you're just starting in Dave Matthews, this may give you a distorted image of the band; get Under the Table and Dreaming or Crash.
The bonus DVD on this CD is Bartender live @ Folsom Field , Boulder. There is a seperate version of each song for 5.1 stereos. Great live footage
