Frost/Nixon is a film about the television interviews that David Frost carried out with the former American President Richard Nixon and centred around the Watergate scandal. They happened in 1977 when I was just a baby so although I had heard about Watergate I couldn't really have told you anything about it and I certainly didn't know that David Frost had interviewed Nixon about it. My husband however had heard about the film and was keen to watch it so I sat down not sure what to expect.
Michael Sheen plays David Frost a successful talk show host who sees his chance to make it big in America by getting the biggest scoop and interviewing Nixon. Nixon agrees to the interview providing Frost can come up with the large fee. Frost has to try to convince the TV networks to pay for the interviews or he will have to find the money elsewhere ...

Frost/Nixon is a 2008 film based on the real-life set of interviews between David Frost and President Richard Nixon which occurred in 1977. The film was directed by Ron Howard and based on a play by Peter Morgan. It is a tense political drama which uses real footage, reconstructions of classic footage and mock interviews with key players to create the historical context for this infamous meeting.

For the second in my reviews of this year?s winter beers I am writing about a fruit beer. Fuller?s Jack Frost is a seasonal beer available for a limited period in bottles and as a Cask Ale ~ I am reviewing the Cask version.

According to the Fuller?s website they are the oldest working brewery in London. It is true to say that there HAS been brewing on the site of the old Griffin Brewery in Chiswick for over 350 years. The company we know today was joined by John Fuller in 1829 and took on its present name in 1845 ~ Fuller, Smith & Turner PLC (this was John Bird Fuller, Henry Smith and John Turner). The descendants of the founding families are still involved in the company today and Fullers are continuing to use traditional methods and recipes to produce award winning beers.
