This is the latest offering from what are a great band, the black crowes. After wandering thru their self imposed wilderness of “Amorica” and others they have come back to their roots in this album, they have come back to the music which made their first 2 albums so brilliant – real raw, hard and bluesy guitar based blues rock with a heavy rolling stones influence. And they do it here with consummate artistry. There is some fat slide guitar and some great croning singing and the hard and fast numbers are softened by the odd slowy of which “welcome to the good times” is the undisputed best. This is a good album. The black crowes are back, the black crowes that we know and love.
