This is the latest offering from what are a great band, the blackcrowes. After wandering thru their self imposed wilderness of ?Amorica? and others they have come back to their roots in this album, they have come back to the music which made their first 2 albums so brilliant ? real raw, hard and bluesy guitar based blues rock with a heavy rolling stones influence. And they do it here with consummate artistry. There is some fat slide guitar and some great croning singing and the hard and fast numbers are softened by the odd slowy of which ?welcome to the good times? is the undisputed best. This is a good album. The blackcrowes are back, the blackcrowes that we know and love. ...
Advantages: Brilliant and concise compilation of their best tracks.Revised classics exclusive to this album. Disadvantages: None that I can think of.
their work over that past decade and also to commemorate them splitting from their American/Columbia. Sho'Nuff is better than this greatest hits album as the greatest hits concentrates tad too much on 'ByYourSide' album and there are several of their best tracks missing from it. So for those of you looking for a concise compilation album that does justice to the full achievements of The BlackCrowes, then I would definitely recommend this album.
Summary: The definitive collection of BlackCrowes classics. ...
Advantages: soulful, rocky, groovy, stan ds the test of time, definitely their best album to date.Must have! Disadvantages: Absolutely none!
beautifully with the steel guitar and give many songs on this album a distinctly rhythm and blues feel: and in songs like Bad Luck Blue Eyes, we get a gentle soulful melody that is almost ballad like.
This album is a true rock & roll album in the most serious sense. Each song has a certain groove and umph that makes you move. The warm gravelly voice of Chris Robinson drives the impact of each song straight through to the core of your being and the result is a serious and lasting chemistry between you and the band that will probably last forever.
