...Jose padilla has done it again, brought such diverse tracks together in harmony to make us lesser mortals feel good about everything. This sadly was to be Jose's last compilation in the cafe del mar series, as i have said before, this is where i stopped buying these cd's. For me no one else could put them together in the same fashion. I started reviewing this series with the first offering and have now jumped to the last, I hope to find the time to review the rest soon, but i have fishy presure at work at the moment (if you read my last review you'll understand!!) So here we are, number six and the last stage of the journey Jose has taken us on. Advantages: Simply fantastic

...and I don't mean that badly, its nice to be soothed so much by one cd. The theme on this cd is mostly a natural rythmic feeling, guitars and classical sounds, but with some electric influence, but as i have said, nothing shocking, I have heard alot of these tunes on BBC 1's Holiday programme and i'm sure most people would recognise a few of the tunes at least. There are 13 tracks on this cd, and as usual, they range from different era's, most are from 1996, one from 1991 and track 3, Sueno con Mexico, a classical guitar piece is from 1979. On almost all of the Cafe del mar cd's you will find one track from about 30 years ago, but it will fit in, and its age won't show, infact you will probably find it to be the best track on the cd and will want to find more music by the artists. ...I was introduced to the cafe del mar series by a friend back in 1995, what a long time ago! I have never been to the famed cafe in Ibiza, but have purchased all the volumes in this series upto Vol 6. I stopped here because the man that puts them togther stopped, there are others and i'm sure they are good, but they won't be as good as this! Jose Padilla is the master mind behind volumes 1-6, he has such a good understanding of music and the way that it can influence moods and feelings and his selections on the cds are outstanding. I will review each of the 6 as I get the time, but here we will deal with the first... There are 12 tracks on the cd, I think you can still by it in the shops but remeber that it is now 10 years old!!
