Advantages: Classic track 'Bulldozer' & 4 bonus tracks, good production job Disadvantages: By far the worst Machine Head Album let down by weak lyrical content
...parts the song is only saved by its heavier moments. There are far too many squealing guitar effects layered onto the clean moments that really dont suit these guys, what a shame!!!
Why? should be the title to 'Crashing Around You' the albums main single. Why did Robb think for a second that anyone would like this song, there are instant comparisons to the much better but still unusual rap-metal flavour of 'From This Day' from the past effort. This song just sat in a heap with all the other Nu-Metal plodders of the time.
'Kick You When Your Down' good punked up track with a fast paced riff that opens the song. Except for that damned organ playing as Robb sings the title to the track leading into the chorus. Again this track has some Rap-Metal Icing on a rotten cake, another miss guided shot.
'Only The Names' Here we can appreciate...

Advantages: It's Motorhead - it doesn't get any better than this! Disadvantages: silly question!
...Over 30 years down the line and still Motorhead and the legendary Lemmy rumble on, producing new music that continues to be among the hardest, rawest and most influential rock music around. Lemmy now famously opens every live gig with the words "We are Motorhead - and we play rock'n'roll". A lot of fans are still stuck in the past with Lemmy and co, and still hark back to the days of the so called classic line up of Lemmy, Eddie Clarke, and Phil Taylor. That was well over 20 years ago. This current line up has been together now since around 1991 and guitarist Phil Campbell has actually been there since 1984, and I'd say THIS is the classic line up, as this album (as well as it's predecessor "Sacrifice" more than prove it...

Advantages: great new material, showcasing great songwriting and an enjoyable sound Disadvantages: needs a good few listens to find the best parts of each song (possible advantage)
...This album represents a great succession for Coldplay into developing their already unique sound and style.
Listeners may find similarities in style from the later tracks on X&Y during the first listen. However further listening reveals an altogether deeper experience with the band experimenting with tempo changes mid song which is accomplished successfully in songs such as "42".
In addition the album includes more upbeat, faster tracks unlike previous albums. Songs such as "Vida la Vida" and "lovers in Japan" really stand out in this respect.
When the tracks do slow down Martins skills as a writer really bloom with the melancholy lyrics of "strawberry swing" and the enchanting sound of "Death and all his friends", providing a great ending to a great album.
Previous fans of Coldplay wont be disappointed by this album and will find...
