After hearing the single 'Scar Tissue' I was really keen to hear more by the Red hot Chilli Peppers. The album 'Californication' is absolutely brilliant, the tracks are surprisingly mellow and great to chill out to. I was impressed by the variety of the songs as sometimes on albums the tracks can sound a bit samey. The first 6 tracks are especially good.
The lyrics are brilliant and the tunes memorable. The inlay and cover design is fairly simple but I don't see the need for anything flashy to be honest, as the CD is good enough on its own. The inlay does offer the lyrics to all the tracks which is quite nice to have.
Although i usually only listen to house and garage, I really enjoy this album. I would recommend Californication to anyone!
