Review on The Red Hot Chilli Peppers-

Well where to start, TRHCP are a hard band to review, especially there albums just which one to go for! So I went with the one and only californication! This is a classic of there greatest work, with the much acclaimed song scar tissue, even if u don’t know the band this song will be in the back of your mind and you will be like *hey im sure I have heard that somewhere!* With its mellow start off and drums, it opens up into a slow but still rock feel. With Anthony Keidis on vocals with his very plush body and interesting use of tattoos one of which a tribal motif along his arm and a large set of Indian style wings on his back. Flea- unmistakeable with his outrageous hair, which had been blue for many years, and tattoo body just as interesting as Anthony . Chad smith- on drums and what a player he is! John fractionate on guitar good old him! Not much comment on those two im afraid! Not big characters like the other two! But still good all the same!

This album was launched in June of 99’.

On the album there are 15 songs, which start off with;-

Around the world- this song has an opening of guitar, drums and vocals, with its hip lyrics and beat that makes your read nod it is defiantly something to look up for. and the basic content of lyrics to make the song is a collection of rhymes and clever song lyrics.

Parallel Universe- this song has another slow start and a sleepy feel, with Anthony Keidis on vocals it then opens up into a feel good song with powerful words and opening up into some good words and Anthony unique voice makes u feel good, and relaxed to a degree.

Scar Tissue- this happens to be one of my favourite songs on the album, it has a mellow feel, and has been played when im on my own or with friends who knows no this songs lyrics, it is one of these songs that I can relax too and enjoy and sing along too with friends. In February of 2000 they brought home a Grammy for this song

Other Side- I can keep being all happy and positive about all songs, this one is one of these song u have to listing too and make your mind up for yourself, I do and I don’t, and so do many other chilli fans, how are friends of mine, like I said u decide on this one.

Get On Top- From the beginning this starts of with fast and good use of words with go up and down with the rhythm of the music. This enjoyment from the song uplifts me, towards the end it does continue with simple guitar and drums mi, and fades back in with the lyrics with a final blast of vocals.

Californication- This song starts of with simple yet soulful melody it continue through the song, and has a beat of head nodding goodness, its quite sleepy but the words of the song mean more than that, and as the song title is the title of the album. And it does the album just!

Easily- And as the album progress through its songs it continues to belt out more cheerful songs and sad songs, this all depends on your mood this can be one or the other! Its has been well done and as the song title says hey why not just take it easy when u listen too it!

Porcelain- This is a very lazy song, one that keep going on and on, but its is a good one all the same, but the song is not as good as others on the album, and its too slow for what any chilli fans are used too. But its something different all the same, and there newer music if a lot different.

Emit Remmus - this start of with a guitar bellow is all I can describe it, the goes into some powerful guitar part and very low key words used, and the pace is slow and yet very new age for its time!

I like dirt - Now this is an up beat and funky tune, its full of rhythm and fun!! Now its something that you can dance around too or sit and chill out.

This velvet glove- this is in my mind very good! Cant keep still to it, there is something there that makes u feel happy, strange yet very uplifting, and as I have a little crush on Anthony I feel he cant do no wrong, well he can here, with his moans for word and the energy he can put into the songs, and the way the words longingly stay there in his voice….hmmm.. anyway back to the song listen and see for ur self!

Saviour- this is more along the lines of well it’s a song, its ok, but no real feeling to it, then about I minute and 30 odd second into it, it goes quite then a flowery vision pops into my head with the music changing to something quite unreal then back to vocals, so the swap o to type into one is interesting! And as for the word being spoken is interesting too!

Purple stain- start off rocky with vocals from the start, more of the lyric that just go on till introducing the guitar more and drums come into play and a constant voice used in perfect time to the music itself, and almost adding a beat to it!

Right on time- now this continues form the previous song and then comes to haul at 16 second into it and changes completely! As if the song is about to finish with the explosion of song, and quietens down again, to a mellow tune you could bop too then back into fast explosive song, with fast and rapid change, with an ending say- **oh lord!**

Road Trippin’- The perfect end to a good album, it is very mellow and light, if you could call it that! It is a good relaxing track and I could lay in my room with this one coming out of my stereo. Very calming, overall a good ending.

Now this album shows the versatility to what The RHCP can do, its up to there public to decide on how they are progressing in there music. This is my review of the Red Hot Chilli peppers. And I hope you have enjoyed it. After a 20 year rain they have released a greatest hit album in 2003 which include two new tracks “fortune faded” and “save the population” .
