Red Hot Chili Peppers are one of my favourite bands. I can chill out listening to some of their songs and I could also dance like crazy with others.
The Red Hot Chili Peppers is rock band consisting on vocal by Anthony Kiedis (legend), John Frusciante with the guitar, Flea on the bass and Chad Smith on the drums. By themselves they are amazing and together, they are awesome. The band is based on the style of rock but during making this album they were not young anymore, the album contains something special that attracts the not everyday rock music fans. This album has a lot of funkiness that catches a wider audience.
This album is the band's seventh, some people would say it's a masterpiece. The album was released on the 6/7/1999.
1. Around the World Albums tend to have a good first track and this has it. 'Around the World' kind of put you in a trance, besides the good tune, you have to listen to the lyrics it is about things that happens in life. The track starts
well and ends well.
2. Parallel Universe This is one of the tracks that have a nice rhythm, excellent use of guitar. It's not unusual that this track has something to do with drugs as it is a rock band.
3. Scar Tissue I like listening to this track when I'm studying, it's a nice smooth song and the chorus is great.
4. Otherside I find this track very chilling, though it's not one of the better ones in the album it's still good. The song is about sadness and depression :( , not a good song to listen to when you are down.
5. Get on Top Here is one of Red Hot Chilil Peppers songs that start on a slow beat then get faster. When I listen to this, my heart beat follows the beat with the track, kind of cool. Good tune, good lyrics and great song.
6. Californication This is my favourite track from this album. It is actually the first song I heard from RHCP and it is the reason why I like this band and the reason why I got this album. Anthony Kiedis sings amazingly. The lyrics are awesome. Plus its been No. 1 in the charts for a long period. I recommend watching the music video, it's brilliant.
7. Easily Nice track, lyrics are good, the style is quick but it's seems on a boarder line of a relaxing and upbeat song. I don't actually feel anything for this track but you have to listen to it to decide for yourself.
8. Porcelain Not exactly the one of best by RHCP, it's like they was trying something different, maybe that's why the track is short.
9. Emit Remmus The tune is good but I am not too sure about the lyrics. When this track is playing I usually just listen to the excellent guitar work.
10. I Like Dirt This is a cool track, I listen to this over and over again just so I can remember the lyric. It's one of those songs that you would not get bored of because it's easy to listen to and very enjoyable.
11. This Velvet Glove Not bad but not my cup of tea either. You can tell this track has the Red Hot Chili Peppers style that is starting off with a quiet tune and then gradually picks up the beat and it makes you alive.
12. Savior This is a fine track, kind of different though. The song has nice lyrics but it does not go with the style of the tune. The tune is completely random, there is a mixture of quiet, loud, slow and fast.
13. Purple Stain Another excellent track, I enjoy listening to this a lot. The fantastic chorus will get you joining in. It is one of those songs that are catchy but if you listen to it too many times, you might become sick of it. Just put this on for special occasions.
14. Right on Time Most of the time, towards the end of the album, artists leave their not so popular and worse songs but in this album, they don't. It is another good track; it is very appealing, you might start a little head banging with this.
15. Road Trippin' This is the final track on the album and it finishes very nicely. Nice and easy to listen to. The lyric are great with the tune, it's a good track to end the album.
The album has some good and not so good tracks but overall it is a decent album to have. I do recommend it.
I have just checked the price on ebay and there are sellers selling from £0.99 (not including post and package). It's £6.99 from HMV. Very reasonable prices.
I am giving this album 9/10
