Advantages: Absolutely fantastic
Disadvantages: Is there any?

...This CD, from the god of what was it(?), is absolutley nothing like what I would have expected from Manson.I was expecting something a little weird with some bizzare vocal effects with heavy drums and guitar, but actually what you get is a more mellow, interesting and actually meaningful album. This album is the final of a trilogy, the story apparantly being the creation and evolution of the wormboy in Antichrist Superstar, the finding himself and where he is headed in Mechanical Animals, and final in this album he is reflecting on what has happened to him and why it happened throughout his journey. Easy to understand really considering he is blamed for a lot of bad things that happen in America. This is truly a first class album and well worth buying for any rock fan. Advantages: bartender and the thief....what a track
Disadvantages: too early in their careers to settle on a formula

...Surely its too early for the phonics to rehash an album. Unfortunately this certainly seems the case with Performance and Cocktails, and you have to look no farther that the 5th track on both albums if you dont believe me. Word gets Around was such a great album that you can hardly blame the valley boys for this approach but it leaves the fledgling fans wondering if the music will ever progress to new heights or whether they will force themselves into a welsh rock mould as demonstrated by the manics. This album does have its qualities though particularly the gritty rock track "the bartender and the thief" and the moody "a minute longer". I wouldn't go so far as to call this album a miss, but they need to give more time to their next project if they are to keep their growing fan base happy. Kelly Jones' voice would still carry any...
