Camino Del Sol - Antena

Advantages: a beautiful album
Disadvantages: sounds very 80 's

...Thanks to the people who helped me get the courage to write with my own words.LTM , the excellent label run by James Nice , that re-issue lots of lost records from almost unknoww artist like Paul Haig or Isabelle Antena , is doing a great job. The album here sounds better than the original copy , has a nicer cover with lots of information and the cd is full of bonus , including 12" versions and B sides. Produced by Martin Hayles (light house family , Orange juice) , recorded by Alan Moulder (Curve , Jesusand themarychain) , it has the sound of the eighties for sure but more like the first Sade or early Everything but the girl. Definitely a good way to dicover Isabelle Antena. Don't overlook the american re-issue of Camino del sol , the first record Isabelle did under the name Antena.... Read review

Advantages: one of the best album of 2005
Disadvantages: not easy to find on the market

...ok , these are my words to speak of this record. I first heard Isabelle Antena when she wrote and sung Seaside with Buscemi on his album Camino Real .I then found that the first Eighteen street lounge compilation started with one of her track (Antena). As I'm a fan of both Thievery Corporation and Buscemi , when I saw that this record had remixes from both , plus Nicola Conte and Yukihiro Fukutomi (who are among my favorite artists) , I had to get it. And actually , I do prefer now by far the first CD , pure bossa nova in Jobim style. The cover of Henri Mancini's song is outstanding.I new it from the movie the Party , Claudine Longet being a french actress and Dimitry from Paris (french dj) had made an instrumental version.But this one , to me is even better than the original. Advantages: Fantastic music.

...Twisted was released in 1995 and since that day has been one of the most loved, most listened to and most comforting cds in my collection. I think that anyone who really likes music wants to find that one special band, that one particular sound that makes everything seem just that little bit easier when you hear it. For me, Del Amitri is that band. I listen to their music and for that time i feel uplifted, happy, relaxed, comfortable and more to the point, content with the fact that i am listening to some very accomplished musicians. And so, to Twisted, i would say, in my opinion, this is their best known album. Certainly amongst people i know anyway. I also know someone who claims to hate Del Amitri and yet even he admits to liking 3 of the songs on this album, which i think speaks volumes in respect of this being a very fine album...
