the contrasting musical styles and tastes of Rafferty and Connolly worked well. But it was never a marriage made in heaven, and when as Gerry later commented, "Billy's jokes were getting longer and longer, the songs shorter and shorter", the break-up was almost inevitable. To this day though, the two remain firm friends.
~ ~ Gerry’s first solo album was called “CanIHaveMyMoneyBack?”.
Released in 1971, it wasn’t a huge seller, but received good reviews from the music press, and brought him to the attention of some of the big names in the music world.
In 1972 he hooked up with an old mate called Joe Egan, and they formed a group called “Stealers Wheel”. Between 1972 and 1975 this band released three albums, and produced yet another classic song for which they will always be remembered called “Stuck ...

soon to perform.
They have also according to Gerry toured America recently and he still clearly enjoys performing.
Judging by last night people stil love him too.
This was one of the best shows Ihave seen for a long while Gerry Marsden is besides a top singer a very funny guy.
He often had us all in stitches with the jokes he came out with and he also did a question and answer session in between singing such classics as Ferry cross the Mersey , You'll never walk alone , I like it and lot's more.
These are Gerry's songs and no one can sing them quite like him. Although he is nearly sixty himself now ,you would not believe it from his tireless performance which saw him on stage for nearly two hours.
He also sings a mean rendition of Robbie Williams "Angel" and does a very good Jerry Lee Lewis impersonation too. There is clearly no ...
Advantages: massive memory great features and look. Disadvantages: mirrored back becoming scratched
I currently own the i-pod 32 GB, It was bought for me for xmas when my parents went Florida and was very suprised when I was given it. The i-pod touch is very light weight and looks very classy with its shiny black design and mirrored backing, after conecting the i-pod touch up to my computer i found the graphics to be very good the touch screen is very easy to use you dont need to apply that much pressure unlike other touch screen mp3s. I find that the i-pod touch can hold a massive amount of song much more than ive actually got to put on it. The internet access is amazing it is very much like using your pc and do have to recommend anyone that purchases the i-pod touch does download the apps stall as the games and features are really good. only bad thing ihave to say is that the mirrored back does get scratch very easily. ...

Album Notes
This reissue contains 12 bonus tracks from Gerry Rafferty's first group, The Humblebums. Personnel includes: Gerry Rafferty (vocals, acoustic guitar, piano); Joe Egan (vocals); Roger Brown (acoustic & electric guitars); Alan Parker (electric guitar); Rod King (steel guitar); John Van Dernick (fiddle); Tom Parker (piano, harpsichord, harmonium, organ, keyboards); Gary Taylor (bass); Henry Spinetti (drums, percussion); Andrew Steele (drums); Hugh Murphy (tambourine, background vocals); Rab Noakes (background vocals). Engineers include: Jerry Boys, Robin Black, Gerald Chervin. Originally released on Transatlantic Records. Includes liner notes by Alan Robinson. All tracks have been digitally remastered. Rafferty seems to have spent his life writing about his tribulations with the music business and the problems it caused with his relationships. This was the first of many albums, including those with Stealers Wheel, to address this subject. That should not cloud the enjoyment because some of his gentlest moments are here, such as 'Didn't I' and the lovely 'Mary Skeffington'. 'Sign On The Dotted Line', written with Joe Egan, is the first of the 'business' songs. Nowadays, 'Baker Street' pays the mortgage, but in the innocent times of 1971 Rafferty needed every record sale he could get. Sadly this underexposed gem of a record let him down.
Album Reviews
Q (12/96, p.159) - 3 Stars (out of 5) - "...retains considerable charm thanks to the modesty of its ambition and its author's eternal gift for double-tracked melody....represents an honourably restored brick in the wall of Scottish pop." Mojo (8/00, p.118) - "...A fine young songwriter in the McCartney mould....[This album] still has its charm."
