Dishwater or British pride? (Carling Lager)

Advantages: Cheap.
Disadvantages: Weak watery taste.

I like beer, as do many of us, but after a recent holiday in Belgium I have come back a bit of a beer snob. The beer in Belgium (mainstream beer too) is wonderful, full of rich flavours and has a decent kick to it which is different to many mainstream beers found in the UK. I know you can get good Real Ales in the UK but I thought I would look at a selection of the more popular beers you can get easily throughout the UK starting with Carling. The tin of carling I have chilling in my fridge contains 440ml of 4% vol beer and cost me £1.09. The tin is black and white and boasts that Carling is made with British barley and has been for over 30 years, the beer is made from 100% British barley and that the beer offers a complete flavour and refreshment for all. I will put the latter to the test shortly. The tin also contains nutritional ...

Review of Carling Black Label Lager

Carling! MMMMMMMMMMM!

Advantages: It tastes great
Disadvantages: It gets you drunk

62nd among U.S. brewers in sales in 1949 was in the top ten by 1955. Carling enters the 1960's as the 'fastest growing brewer" in the United States and continues their expansion. In 1962, Ian R. Dowie now president of Canadian Breweries Limited, becomes chairman of Carling Brewing Company. Herny E. Russell is elected carling president in November of 1962. Henry Russell was regional vice president in charge of the Natick brewery. Under his leadership Carling continues its vigorous growth. In a huge mistake which almost ruins the company, Carling experiments with a "continuous brewing process " at a newly built brewery in Ft. Worth, Texas. The idea was to speed up the brewing process, and in short, to brew more beer more often. The experiment is a complete failure. The idea is scrapped and the brewery is closed after ...

Review of Carling Black Label Lager

Interactive Carling review

Advantages: very refreshing
Disadvantages: can be too good

Please join me right now for a refreshingly wet, cold, long, twangy (it's your first one of the day, and you haven't sneaked a quiet one already) pint of Carling. Now I perfer it in a Carling imprinted special pint glass, others who are a real lady perhaps little nervous may perfer a half glass which is not as special as the pint glass:) but does the trick all the same. Today, I've gone a little crazy and have bought you a pint out of my own "Carling p up the wall account". This is an interactive experience that could catch on. Ok, lets start... Hold your horses....Now observe the subject matter first. The colour is a yellow ochre and changes in darkness depending where you are. The smell has a slight sweet nectar scent that lingers around the subject and reacts seductively with your brain it tells me. "take me I'm yours ...
