tribute to Brian Wilson and the Beach Boys--isn't, but it's mainly down to the quality of everyone involved. The usual songs aren't exhumed; instead we are treated to delights such as legendary Half-Japanese naïve poet Jad Fair's one-take version of The Honeys' 1977 pop gem "Do Ya" and Stevie (Belle & Sebastian) Jackson's intimate take on Beach Boys reject "Good Time". Throughout, there's an obvious love and quite stunning level of research--from the beautiful rare photographs of Brian taken by ex-housemate David Dalton to the copious sleeve-notes and exclusive Brian interview in the sumptuous 28-page booklet. Other highlights include former Josef K/Orange Juice member Malcolm Ross's lounge reading of "Heroes And Villains"; St Etienne's subtle reading of the unreleased "Stevie"; Katrina (The Pastels) Mitchell's sparse, whispered cover of "Wind Chimes"; and many more besides. Caroline Now is a fitting tribute. --Jerry Thackray

Advantages: Some good tunes, suitable for anyone any age Disadvantages: Also some poor quality tunes, getting worse each time a new ones out
...42 poptastic tracks on them?
Disk one track listing is as follows
*1. Duffy - Mercy
This is a song of Duffy's debut album that made it straight to number one from the first internet download releases. Her music is said to be similar to the music from Amy Winehouse. Duffy is originally from Wales and became famous from a talent show.
*2. Rihanna - Don't Stop The Music
A catchy very lively song by Rihanna similar to some of her other releases favourite of mine on this album. This song is from Rihanna's album 'Good Girl Gone Bad'.
*3. Basshunter - Now You're Gone
I had heard this song before I heard it by Basshunter not sure where but it was familiar, a really fast easy to get into song. That has been successful in various countries as well as the UK, I feel it is one of the best songs on this album.
*4. Girls Aloud...

...Between the family we own pretty much all of the Now Cds, dating quite far back anyway. The Now Thats What I Call Music!... collection is a collection of CD albums released seasonally filled with all the hits from the past few months. Although people do not tend to get as excited about these because of downloads, YouTube and what have you, they are still something to have in the collection and can be treasured for years to come!
Now: 71 was released towards the end of 2008, just in time for people to outstock the shops, as it is an ideal Christmas present! The cover is very attractive! Is is filled with presents of every colour to lure you closer, showing just what a treat and gift this is! Bowsing the back you will notice there are forty five tracks spread out on two discs. Now I will not go into detail about each one but I shall...

The Series
The "Now" series was a project formed by record label giants EMI and Universal Music. Launched in 1983, the series continues to sell and to date, has obtained appoximately 75 million album sales worldwide.
The first compilation featured thirty UK hit singles from 1983 on a double vinyl LP or cassette. Currently Now albums are released on CD and via digital download.
The rate of release varied greatly when the series began, but more recently a Now cd appears to be released 3 times a year - one at Easter, another during summer...
