Catán: Rappaccini's Daughter (Highlights)

...Life isn't fair. It's official. If you live in the UK you can go years and years at a time without the chance of seeing Pearl Jam perform live, and this album only serves to rub salt in that bloody wound as it highlights just what we've been missing. Taken from their North American tour in support of the Yield album, Live On Two Legs gives us a storming collection of 16 tracks from the Seattle quintet (with ex-Soundgarden man Matt Cameron on drums). Although it may disappoint some that the first album hits aren't here, there is a wealth of material to make up for it. From the serene intensity of Daughter and Black to punchiness of the cover of Neil Young's F**kin' Up, Vedder and co continue to prove they are here for the duration. ...Aerosmith have been around for twenty years or more and it is difficult to advise people new to Aerosmith which album to listen too. I take the easy way out and suggest 'Big Ones' which is a compilation of many of their greatest hits of the first fifteen years. This album captures the essence of Aerosmith showing off their diverse music that ranges from heavy rock to soft rock to love ballad, with the odd jazzy song thrown in. Steven Tyler, the ultimate performer, screams and sings his way through this wonderful album. Advantages: Reminds you of christmas as a child and helps recreate a family christmas atmosphere

...I bough this CD a few years ago now for my daughter and must admit it is a really festive CD. The songs are all ones that you will recongnise and love and so will your children over the years. To me Christmas is all about children and the songs odnthis CD bring that home to you. It's true christmas Carols and not these hyped up pop versions. We play this every christmas now and it is one of the highlights for my daughter. She knows christmas is just aroung the corner when we start playing the CD and she even knows the words to some of the songs. Guaranteed to get you in the spirit of things and will be the best thing you could spen your money on this year.
